Histoire
After seven long years of conflict, the Horus Heresy nears its end. But now, as the Warmaster Horus marches on Terra to rip his father from the Throne, the seat of the arch-traitor’s power lies empty. Cthonia, a world once dominated by brutal murder-gangs, is occupied by the Emperor’s praetorians—the indomitable Imperial Fists. For the Sons of Horus, this outrage demands a reckoning.

Histoire
After seven years of bitter war, the end has come at last for the conflict known infamously as the Horus Heresy. Terra now lies within the Warmaster’s sights, the Throneworld and the seat of his father’s rule. Horus’ desire is nothing less than the death of the Emperor of Mankind and the utter subjugation of the Imperium. He has become the ascendant vessel of Chaos and amassed a terrible army with which to enact his will and vengeance. But the way to the Throne will be hard as the primarch Rogal Dorn, the Praetorian and protector of Terra, marshals the defences.

The Shattered Legions crew of the Sisypheum, broken and at the end of their endurance, find themselves divided - torn between following their resurrected captain on a suicidal mission or obeying orders to return to Terra and rejoin their Legion brothers. Following a series of garbled messages intercepted by the Kryptos, the divided warriors descend to the shattered surface of Luna. Here, their bonds of loyalty, duty, and their devotion to one another will be tested as ancient horrors of the earliest days of gene-manipulation are unleashed, and a long-buried secret is revealed.

Histoire
Of all the Emperor’s sons who fell to Chaos, it is perhaps Magnus the Red whose tale is the most tragic. Sanctioned because of his desire for knowledge, chastised, judged, and shattered to his very elements – there is much for the Crimson King to feel vengeful for. Yet revenge is not the only thing that draws him to Terra alongside the Warmaster’s besieging armies. He seeks something, a fragment, the missing piece of himself that lies within the most impregnable place on the planet – the inner sanctum of the Imperial Palace.

Histoire
For Ianthe, war is all too familiar. A former soldier in the Astra Militarum, she now serves Inquisitor Covenant as an agent of the Throne. Her first mission sees her investigating a cult called the Children of Eternity. Falling foul of the local Enforcers, Ianthe soon learns that war in the shadows is seldom straightforward and that the local, angry law-keepers are the least of her troubles.

Description
The Horus Heresy Book 53
War is unleashed on Beta-Garmon as the armies of the Emperor attempt to hold back the tide of Chaos in the last major clash before Horus reaches Terra itself - and the God-machines of the Adeptus Titanicus are on the front line.
Read It Because: The long-awaited and much-teased battle of Beta-Garmon is here, and with armies of Titans clashing in brutal no quarters combat, Guy Haley has crafted a remarkable tale.
The Story: Horus’ armada gathers, and he has defeated all enemies sent against him, even the Emperor’s own executioner. One barrier remains before he can strike for Terra and lay waste to the Emperor’s dream.
The Beta-Garmon system occupies the most direct and only viable route to the Solar System and Terra. To break it, Horus assembles a war host of incredible proportions and Titans in untold numbers. To lose here is to lose the war, and Horus has no intention of turning back. But the Imperium understands the importance of Beta-Garmon too. A massive army is arrayed, comprised of near numberless army cohorts and a mustering of Titans to challenge even the martial might of the Warmaster.
Titans fight against Titans as the God-machines of Loyalists and Traitors alike go to war. This conflict will be like no other before it, a world-ending battle that will determine the next phase of the war.

Titans Forever
What does it mean to be a princeps? What is it like to commune with the Machine Spirit? What is it like to be consumed by a chaotic entity?

How do you make Titan war boring?
I was excited to learn this title exited because the idea of this famous battle has always made the imagination run wild. The writer of this book heard those stories and thought the pilots and their basic life drama would be the most interesting part of the story. Ultimately there are like 5 actual titan on titan fights but they are very bad at making it seem interesting, It either feels like black powder musket and cannon lines firing volleys at each other or melee where the power claw is king. Wooo? If you are a super super fan of the Warhammer franchise I'm sure you already read the book and love it but if you are casual fan my advice would be to let the battle for Beta Garmin stay in your imagination, you will be happier.

Slow
I wanted to like this and I saw it through; but this was a struggle. I really like detailed description, but this book was excessive. I felt very little occurred throughout the book until the last 3 hrs. The majority of the time was spent describing the feelings one would receive inside/entering/exiting a Titan or about a squabble between houses. I am interested in both of those things but not for 10+ hours.
Guy Haley is a great writer and I do not feel this is one of his better works. Jonathon Keeble's narration is fantastic as always.
