Great Story

This author writes great historical fiction and this series about Caesar is a good story. I enjoyed the narrators delivery as well.

Love this series!

My husband and I read these books years ago. It was so good to listen to them in audio form years later. Fantastic story and can’t wait to listen to the next one

exciting story

Expertly performed, this is a fictional account of a possible version of Julius Caesar’s life as a child.

A recipe for disappointment.

Even if the author didn't have a pseudo-Caesar as the protagonist, there would still be too many glaring historical innacuracies. Good historical fiction IS fiction, yes, but the fiction takes place between the gaps of what we know, creating a tale of "could have been," even if contrived. This book just deliberately messes with the known persons and timelines and sprinkles in anachronisms and other inaccuracies as seasoning. A recipe for disappointment, best tasted by readers with no knowledge of the Roman Republic.
