Publisher's Summary
Sometimes the truth is darker than fiction.
Liza Cole has 30 days to write the thriller that could put her back on the best-seller list. In the meantime, she's struggling to start a family with her husband, who is distracted by the disappearance of his best friend, Nick. With stresses weighing her down in both her professional and her personal lives, Liza escapes into writing her latest heroine, Beth.
Beth is a new mother who suspects her husband is cheating on her while she's home alone caring for their newborn. Angry and betrayed, she sets out to catch him in the act and to make him pay for shattering the illusion of their perfect life. But before she realizes it, she's tossing the body of her husband's mistress into the East River.
Then the lines between fiction and reality begin to blur. Nick's body is dragged from the same river, and Liza's husband is arrested for his murder. Before her deadline is up, Liza will have to face up to the truths about the people around her, including herself. If she doesn't, the end of her heroine's story could be the end of her own.

One of my Fav narrators
Love this narrator. (Amy McFadden) She makes the stories come to life and is never obnoxious to listen to. She makes any story easy to enjoy.

Yikes! Scary!
I loved this novel written by Cate Holahan, and narrated by Amy McFadden and Lisa Larsen. It was scary to take the rides with well-developed characters. The mental illness is real. I want to say more, but don't want to spoil it. Read it it to find out! I highly recommend this novel and am going on to read her 'One Little Secret'!

Part 1&2 are amazing then…
Part 3 just is so… underwhelming. Like it goes lame… almost as if the book was long enough and needed to hurry up and finish.
I loved the way it swapped between Liza writing the book and the chapters of Beth’s story. The performers were wonderful

Loved this book. Just the right amount of twists and turns and kept me on my toes until the end.

Amazing
This book was fantastic. Kept me interested until the end. Amazing writer and such an interesting comparison between the two stories.

Maybe a little predictable
I liked this listen a lot, even if you could see where it was going. Liza and Beth are both great characters, and you can feel the pain they are both going through. I’d have liked a little more background on Aliza as the story unfolded but you can fill in some blanks on your own. Very entertaining and easy to listen to.

pretty good read
at times i found it hard to follow which couple she was talking about. only the baby made it easier to follow. the book gets better in the later chapters. A murder she will get away with? i would still get rid of that husband.

Surprisingly Enjoyable
Although I liked 1 story more than the other. it was a decent book that captivated my attention. I do wish the ending was a bit more fleshed out but overall decent book . I did really like narrators.

So confusing!!
About half way through I figured out the other character was the main characters character in the book she was writing. The ending was uneventful. A little underwhelmed but thankfully it wasn’t a long audio and it was free!
