Publisher's Summary

Love. Sucks.

I don’t know where I went wrong. Whether it was letting a man convince me that suddenly, the things I’ve never wanted are right for me, or if simply believing the best in the person who I wasted three years of my life on was what lead me here.

To Cherry Peak. A small town nestled in the heart of Alberta, Canada.

The hometown of rising country star, Brody Steele.

It only takes one brief encounter to mark him as a broody jerk. An all-knowing, arrogant celebrity with a complex I don’t have the energy for.

But if I truly dislike him the way I’ve convinced myself I do, then why am I always looking for him in crowded rooms? Why are his surprisingly thoughtful gestures melting the wall of ice I’ve stuck between us?

Cherry Peak was supposed to be my fresh start, a place to heal and rebuild. Yet, just as I begin piecing my life back together, Brody’s preparing to leave, as if he hasn’t become a vital part of that journey.

The thought of losing him keeps me up at night. I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to find our footing, or if we were just stringing each other along the whole time.

Brody and Anna

This book has a connection to another series of Hannah's - book one in the Greatest Love series. You don't have to read that series to read this book but I did like the connection.

Anna moves to a small town in Alberta after heartbreak of finding her fiancé messing around with another woman on her BIRTHDAY! She needs a change and to run away from it all. That's how she finds herself in Cherry Peak, AB. She knows no one. She finds herself a job at a local hair salon. One day she also makes a couple friends that she's always wanted. Their friendship is instant.

Brody is the grandson of the legendary cattle ranch in Cherry Peak. He's also an up and coming superstar, who's voice all of a sudden went and he's come home to rest it. There is huge resentment from his grandfather for leaving and not taking over the ranch. Brody is a bit of a grump and keeps to himself for the most part.

When an accidental picture is sent to a strangers number. A relationship starts through text. It is not so nice at the start but turns into a friendship when these two strangers really need a friend.

The first meeting of Anna and Brody doesn't start off well. It's hate at first sight. However, as time goes on it improves. Anna has never had to drive on icy roads before and doesn't have the right kind of winter gear. Brody starts doing nice things for her and a friendship blossoms between the two.

This book is a small town, enemies to lovers, found family/friends, steamy scenes.... I really enjoyed the audiobook and can't wait to do book two.
