Publisher's Summary

"A bold and expertly plotted page-turner." (Courtney Summers, New York Times best-selling author of Sadie)

From the author of The Cheerleaders comes a thriller about best friends on a weekend getaway that goes horribly, dangerously wrong.

Three best friends, a lake house, a secret trip - what could go wrong?

It was supposed to be the perfect prom weekend getaway. But it's clear something terrible happened when Claire wakes up alone and bloodied on a hiking trail with no memory of the past 48 hours.

Now everyone wants answers - most of all, Claire. She remembers Friday night, but, after that...nothing. And now Kat and Jesse - her best friends - are missing.

What happened on the mountain? And where are Kat and Jesse? Claire knows the answers are buried somewhere in her memory. But as she's learning, everyone has secrets - even her best friends. And she's pretty sure she's not going to like what she remembers.

What the critics say

"Kara Thomas is ruthless. When you descend into That Weekend, prepare for darkness ahead, breakneck turns, and shivery secrets. I am still reeling." (Kit Frick, author of I Killed Zoe Spanos)

"Quick-fire pacing, sharpened dialogue, and clever reveals make for an addictive read.” (Publishers Weekly)

"A deliciously unsettling and grimly beautiful examination of the dark and twisted potential lurking within us all. That Weekend is a bold and expertly plotted page-turner from beginning to end, and firmly cements Kara Thomas as a master of the craft - no one writes a thriller like her." (Courtney Summers, New York Times best-selling author of Sadie)

Super captivating

I really liked this novel - it's an interesting and captivating hook with a well developed plot and storyline. It's also narrated really well - I didn't like the main narrator in "Little Monsters" but she's either better suited to this or gotten better because she's dope in this. however, I will say that the ending is unexpectedly dark, in a bit of an unsettling way.
