Story
When Cassie Klein goes to an off-campus bar to escape her school’s Family Weekend, she isn’t looking for a hookup—it just happens. Buying a drink for a stranger turns into what should be an uncomplicated, amazing one-night stand. But then the next morning rolls around and her friend drags her along to meet her mom—the hot, older woman Cassie slept with. What should have been a one-time fling quickly proves impossible to ignore, and soon Cassie and Erin are sneaking around. Worst of all, they start to realize they have something real. But is being honest about it worth the cost?

Story
Caroline Parker knows three things to be true. First, she is going to be Boston's most sought-after divorce attorney by 35. Second, given how terrible her romantic track record is, falling in love isn't in the cards for her. And third, Christmas only brings her bad luck - being broken up with not once, not twice, but three times during the holidays is proof enough of that. When she runs into Hannah Dalton on Christmas Eve, she has no reason to believe her luck will change. After all, though Hannah is probably the most gorgeous woman she's ever seen, she's also straight.

Publisher's Summary
Top neurosurgeon Samantha Thomson needs to get married fast and is tightlipped as to why. And with over $200,000 on offer to tie the knot, no questions asked, cash-strapped ER nurse Hayden Perez isn't about to demand answers.
The deal is only for a year of marriage, but Hayden's going into it knowing it will be a nightmare. Sam is complicated, rude, kind of cold, and someone Hayden barely tolerates at work, let alone wants to marry. The hardest part is that Hayden has to convince everyone around them that they're madly in love and that racing down the aisle together is all they've ever wanted.

Tsundere meets lovable mess
If you love a story about an apparently cold love interest showing they're anything but over time, this is a good one for you. I loved Hayden from the start. She is just a sweetheart and a bit of a mess in a way that really felt real to 2sLGBT communities I have been part of before. Sam is someone who would be read as cold and detached by most people at first, but she really grew on me as the story went on. The twists in this story were really satisfying.
Representation notes: pan/lesbian main romance; major non-binary supporting character
Narrator note: if you see low ratings on this book, it's probably mostly for the narrator and probably mostly from DNFs that did not give her enough of a chance. At the start, I found her reading really wooden and emotionless. But once the characters started showing wry and sarcastic senses of humour and teasing each other she really warmed up, had good comedic timing, and I also realized there was a lot more dryness in her reading than I originally realized.

Super cute
It held my attention, I thought it was cute and that the way it was written was fun, like someone’s internal narrator would actually sound like.
I laughed out loud quite a few times.

Unexpected
Thought the concept was strange at first but as the characters develop you begin to understand their decisions. Different then any romance book I have read lately. The characters have a lot of depth to their backgrounds that other novels are missing.

romance
I listened to the whole book..but it was a struggle. more showing than telling. and a very leftist worldview...but whatever, a little preachy but had some fun parts of romance and struggle..good premise fast paced..

Dull
This book started out dull and continued that way until I couldn't take it any longer and returned it. I gave my last 5 books read 5 stars so I am not all that picky but this one just wasn't for me at all.
