Publisher's Summary
In this audio-exclusive prequel - a must-hear for die-hard Zombie Fallout fans and newcomers alike - listeners are brought back to the days before outbreak; to the origins of a virus capable of raising the dead, its patient zero, and the events that set in motion the destruction of the human race.
Those who would seek a new world order have unleashed the most devastating virus onto mankind, and even they do not know the secrets hidden in their weapon. Follow along as Harry, a CDC scientist, races to figure out what exactly the virus is and how to stop it. It will be up to him and a group of marines led by Major Sanders to stop the zombie fallout before it ravages an unsuspecting world.

A Masturbatory Fantasy for Anti Vaxxers
A Masturbatory Fantasy for Anti Vaxxer Conspiracy Believers.
I'm not an anti vaxxer conspiracy imbecile, but I love Zombie stories, and I hate the human species, So this sounds GREAT.
I'd still prefer Resident Evil, but for some reason, RE books have no audiobooks.
anyway
This "vaccination to infect humanity plot" is a Real Life CONSPIRACY theory that anti vaxxer psychos believe in. Especially after our IRL pandemic.
This is a great premise and a great start. I'm gonna listen to the other books, definitely. This origin story solves the "how can this TheZambieVarus™ spread so quickly" question that hangs over a lot of TheZambieVarus™ stories.

Such an interesting tale
Sean Runnette was an interesting pick as narrator, as he has this amazing folksy voice that brings a bit of whimsy to a fairly serious and gory tale about the start of the zombie apocalypse. Not that this grisly tale isn’t peppered with well-timed humour; which can be hard to do but Tufo does it well.
The stuff about the government and vaccines being the cause is…a little eye-rolling, but it’s done well. I hope the rest of the books aren’t gonna beat me over the head with an anti-vaxx diatribe.

Listen/read book 1 first then Zero
I really enjoyed this as it gave context, and filled in the blanks from book 1. I just finished book 2 and looking forward to book 3.

Zombies…say no more!
I really enjoyed this even though it’s not a Mike Talbot story. I’m also sorry that they made the virus origin about the flu vaccine. As a life saving treatment does need bad press. But the presenter and the rest of the story was as gritty and down to earth as it can get. I like how the ending is, if not hopeful, not hopeless. But leaves us with characters determined to make a difference in this new world. I only wish it kept going with these new characters!

short and with little plot
was much shorter than i realised and had almost no plot, we were dropped into the laboratory, then into war then it ended mid outbreak. no resolution or ending of any sort. the narrator was a little goofy too but well spoken

Just not good
All characters are cliche and the main character is very annoying, way to much time is put into describing if a woman character is beautiful or not
