Indispensable

This book is exactly what I needed to help me organize the complex ideas I have into a workable and cohesive plot outline. I have always struggled pantsing and consider myself to be a a plotter. This book has inspired an outline so complete that I will consider it a first draft. If I spend my time here now, the savings on revision time will be substantial. That said, a more pared down version will be helpful to even the most stalwart of pantsers.

Great Resource

I purchased this book after author Dan Brown (The DaVinci Code) recommended it in his Masterclass. Weiland has some great guiding questions for getting started and then gets into more concepts/questions for writers who want to create more detailed outlines. I also appreciate the inclusion of the common errors beginning writers tend to make, and suggestions for how to avoid them. The references for additional supporting resources available online are invaluable. I opted to purchase a digital copy of the supporting workbook after listening to this audio. My only wish is that a supporting pdf file was available to help navigate Outlining Your Novel as the audiobook is the kind of resource I will want to revisit in sections as I work through my outline.
