Cute uplifting YA novel
Essentially a charming, funny and emotional YA novel about a young girl in a small minded mid western town trying to win a Prom competition to fund her university ambitions; but it is really a book that handles a lot of difficult topics in an uplifting manner. The relationships, found family, friends, siblines - they make the book shine.
