Experts agree that one of the most common triggers for overthinking patterns is insecurity, which can lead to anxiety and depression.

In this audiobook, Richo offers a fresh perspective on love and relationships - one that focuses not on finding an ideal mate, but on becoming a more loving and realistic person. Drawing on the Buddhist concept of mindfulness, How to Be an Adult in Relationships explores five hallmarks of mindful loving and how they play a key role in our relationships throughout life.

Developed over ten years in private practice, Baum’s signature Self-full® Method has helped her clients get off the toxic roller coaster of anxious attachment and discover the secure and mutually supportive relationships they deserve. In this book readers will learn how to:

Wonderful
I rarely leave reviews. I feel compelled to for this book in case anyone else feels they are an anxiously attachment type. This book is incredibly helpful, compassionate, hopeful, and empowering. Plan on making a lot of notes.
The soothing voice and author’s words makes me want to listen to this again and again.
Special thanks to the author for your work and taking the time to share with us. My little me is giving you a big hug

Life changing
First Jessica’s narration. I felt she was in the room with me. Gentle and caring.
Second. I believe in lifelong growth and learning. This book helped me understand more about why I behave the way I do sometimes. Gave me tools to change those behaviours and embrace my inner self.
Third. So many people have the challenges that Jessica outlined in the book. I think for anyone having relationship issues, listening to this book with your partner could open up great conversations and help to bring more compassion and deeper understanding.
Lastly, I have already recommended the book to several friends. I hope it helps them as much as it helped me.
Thank you, Jessica for bravely sharing your experiences and giving anyone with anxious attachment, the kindness and community to know we’re not alone.

Really good but still falls a bit short
First rate explanation of attachment theory and real life examples of how to do inner exploration and growth by recognizing our inner “little me” and taking responsibility for creating a safe and comforting environment for ourselves in which to (possibly) heal and grow.
What is lacking, I’m sorry to say, is the part about actual healing. The book jumps from a sort of hopeful and tender narrative about finding and nurturing your inner “little me” to a bunch of examples of people going to a few sessions with a therapist and then just ending their relationships. Much of the advice seems to be to cut your losses (know when to quit) and walk away. While this is still more insightful than Kenny Rogers’ timeless gambler’s classic song, it’s basically the same thing “know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em etc.”.
I know that there are plenty of options out there for people to grow in relationship with another, imperfect person (couples counselling, EFT, Imago, etc.). Sadly, the author does not seem to be aware of these approaches, nor to value the possible benefits they offer to individuals who are ready to heal and grow.
My final critique is that this seems to be mostly from a female perspective and not necessarily an “enlightened” one. Most of the examples are of women stuck with apparently hopeless men. It’s almost a trope as presented.
I’d love to see a revised version with more options for healing as well as a more gender balanced perspective.

Best book I've come across in years!
I'm a social worker, but like the author, had relationship challenges due to an insecure attachment style with my parents. I promise you, this book will make sudden sense of your world--how we repeat the patterns we were raised in. No matter how hard we try not to repeat them, the odds are so high. This book helps us stop that, once and for all. Definitely a great book to gift young adults, as well. Save them heartache and teach them self-love and confidence!!!

Absolutely loved this book!
I think this book actually changed my life . The author narrates and also guides you though therapy and meditation. I listened to most of it while walking and did the meditation at home. I am still using these techniques after finishing the book weeks ago . I was brought to tears a couple times with realizations but now know I am not alone . My little me now knows this too. Thank you Jessica
