Publisher's Summary

"The Lord God is my strength and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places." ( Habakkuk 3:19)

Hinds' Feet on High Places is Hannah Hurnard's best-known and best-loved book, a beautiful allegory dramatizing the yearning of God's children to be led to new heights of love, joy, and victory.

Follow Much-Afraid on her spiritual journey through difficult places with her two companions, Sorrow and Suffering. Learn how Much-Afraid overcomes her tormenting fears as she passes through many dangers and mounts at last to the High Places. There she gains a new name and then returns to her valley of service, transformed by her union with the loving Shepherd.

This edition of Hinds' Feet on High Places includes two special sections: Hannah Hurnard's own account of the circumstances that led her to write Hinds' Feet on High Places and a brief autobiography of the author's life as told in the book Hearing Heart.

Beautiful allegory

I loved listening to this book! The narrator, Nadia May, was expressive and animated and the story itself is beautifully written. A really great experience!
There were a few places where there was a repeated sentence or 2 before the story continued. But it could be overlooked and didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the book.

High Places

I loved being taken on a journey to High Places, through the Alps, through adventures through Switzerland. I’ve never been, but it is of great interest to me as my Grandparents came from there being Swiss German.
The pursuit of being a loving child of God is very dear to my heart. Living a life that speaks of Jesus is also my goal. I have not been disappointed in listening to Hannah’s experiences. I want to listen again.

Loved the Symbolism

I loved the symbolism in this book. The light bulbs inside my head were constantly going off. I love the characters names. They revealed so much about human nature.

When your weakness is your identity.

The main character's journey of battling her negative thoughts and overwhelming emotions is very relatable to my own journey. I learn something new about myself each time I read it.
