Story
The Happiness Hypothesis is about ten Great Ideas. Each chapter is an attempt to savor one idea that has been discovered by several of the world's civilizations—to question it in light of what we now know from scientific research, and to extract from it the lessons that still apply to our modern lives and illuminate the causes of human flourishing. Award-winning psychologist Jonathan Haidt, the author of The Righteous Mind, shows how a deeper understanding of the world's philosophical wisdom and its enduring maxims can enrich and even transform our lives.

Publisher's Summary
One of the start-up world’s most in-demand executive coaches - hailed as the “CEO Whisperer” (Gimlet Media) - reveals why radical self-inquiry is critical to professional success and healthy relationships in all realms of life.
Jerry Colonna helps start-up CEOs make peace with their demons, the psychological habits and behavioral patterns that have helped them to succeed - molding them into highly accomplished individuals - yet have been detrimental to their relationships and ultimate well-being. Now, this venture capitalist turned executive coach shares his unusual yet highly effective blend of Buddhism, Jungian therapy, and entrepreneurial straight talk to help leaders overcome their own psychological traumas. Reboot is a journey of radical self-inquiry, helping you to reset your life by sorting through the emotional baggage that is holding you back professionally and, even more important, in your relationships.
Jerry has taught CEOs and their top teams to realize their potential by using the raw material of their lives to find meaning, to build healthy interpersonal bonds, and to become more compassionate and bold leaders. In Reboot, he inspires everyone to hold themselves responsible for their choices and for the possibility of truly achieving their dreams.
Work does not have to destroy us. Work can be the way in which we achieve our fullest self, Jerry firmly believes. What we need, sometimes, is a chance to reset our goals and to reconnect with our deepest selves and with each other. Reboot moves and empowers us to begin this journey.

Absolutely Incredible!
Every now and again you come across a “gold coin” as I like to say for someone, an event, or a thing that changes the trajectory of your life; this is a Gold Coin that I would encourage anyone to pick up and pocket. This is not just for CEO’s or business folk, but simply for humans who are just trying to make their way. Thank you for this Gold Coin Mr. Colonna. May your words and Being continue to bless all those that encounter either. Many blessings to you!

Wow.
Jerry Colonna is such a wonderful storyteller. I was moved, enlightened, and left a different person thanks to this book. I don’t think my review can really do it justice as I found this to be a book I wish I found when younger... but happy it came to me when it did. Such a beautiful writer and love that the audiobook is in the authors own voice. Loved it and will read again!

For those who wish to be better leaders
Great book if you do the journaling invitations and be honest with yourself. Jerry uses stories from his own life and from his coaching with others to guide you to answering the questions that most of us have in life. He uses his life as examples and shares the answers he found to those questions. The book is personable and this is a book where the audio version is probably better than printed as you hear the emotion behind Jerry's words.
Highly recommended!

This is a story
This is a story of a man's journey and it is told very well. It is extremely hopeful. And I would love the leaders I know to hear it.
For me it lacked tools I can use. Or maybe I just missed it, or cannot read between the lines.
The performance was good, a very lulling but attentive voice.
Yet, it is a fantastic story which makes one feel. For a 7 hour audiobook, it just blew by. I look forward to more from Jerry Colonna.

Some discoveries, but mostly too personal
It is a book marketed as a CEO whispering revelation book, but it is mostly about a person's childhood traumas affecting their current decisions and perceptions. So far, so good; it is basic psychology. However, it stops there and becomes mostly wishful thinking notes and goodwill messages. There is no practical information or adaptable guides that would apply to others. Connecting with the story and finding patterns that match your own is possible. But even then, it is a very shallow book in that sense. The first and last chapters have some useful information.
If you are interested in understanding leadership and human psychology, there are much better and more in-depth books like Daniel Kahneman's books (as the psychology guru) or even the 48 Laws of Power.
The performance is usually really good.
