Publisher's Summary
You can't just "get over" anxiety. In fact, the very things most people do to try to feel better - avoiding feared situations, pushing worry out of mind - only make the problem worse. Leading psychologists Susan M. Orsillo and Lizabeth Roemer present a powerful new alternative that can help you break free of anxiety by fundamentally changing how you relate to it. With clarity and compassion, this book describes clinically tested mindfulness practices specifically tailored for anxiety in its many forms. Learn step-by-step strategies for gaining awareness of anxious feelings without letting them escalate, loosening the grip of worry and fear, and achieving a new level of emotional and physical well-being.

I didn't like this book
I rarely provide negative reviews, but I really didn't like this book and felt that many of the positive reviews were misleading. The narration of this audiobook felt very much like an automated voice (it was like Siri reading to me). The narrator uses a verbatim dictation that seems to read complete gibberish at some points. It is literally like having your computer read to you. This was literally the worst performance that I have encountered during my experience with audiobooks.
The nature of the material in this book was also extremely superficial. For example, there is a chapter dedicated to the physiologic impact of stress. Although, stress is clearly an impacting factor for anxiety, I was much more interested in how mindfulness might provide an outlet in how one could manage stress. This book seems to provide little insight into the actual practice of mindfulness and acts as a sales pitch for mindfulness instead. I returned it and would highly recommend looking elsewhere for learning on this topic.
