Story
The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants - rather than the BFG - she would have soon become breakfast. When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!

What the critics say
“Roald Dahl sometimes shared a tonal kinship with Ogden Nash, and he could demonstrate a verbal inventiveness nearly Seussian...[His] stories work better in audio than in print.” (The New York Times)

Great listen!
It was a wonderful listen and Miranda was fantastic. The Grand High Witches voice was pretty bad to listen to at times but I imagine it would be if she were real anyway…

Great book for the whole family
We have listened to all the Roald Dahl audiobooks and this is one of our favourites! Miranda Richardson does an incredible job with all the voices (although the Grand High Witch's voice is a bit grating after a while). Thank you #Audible1

Fun Read!
Listened to it with my 8-year-old boy, and he was right into it! As others have said, the voice of the Grand High Witch can be a little much. We didn't find it scary or irritating or anything, but it was just hard to understand what she was saying sometimes, so I had to do a bit of interpreting for my son. Sometimes we would read along in a physical copy of the book while we listened, which made it a little easier. Either way, it was a good listen!

good story
My kids and I loved this story but the narrators voice for the grand high witch is terribly annoying. The kids wanted to shut it off but we forged through only because it's a good story.
