Fantastic translation of the Saga of the Volsungs (one of the most famous and most important sagas) and the Saga of Ragnar Lothbrok (a lesser known saga, which until now has been difficult to find an English translation of).

Many other translators either use an overly archaic style of English or translate the Old Norse far too literally making it difficult for casual modern readers to understand, but Dr Jackson Crawford has translated these sagas into easily readable and understandable modern English. His introduction section and family tree of the characters across both sagas helps readers to understand the story and also the context in which they were written. A very gripping read
