At the age of 48, I put the "American Dream" on hold and moved to Hong Kong. I worked throughout Asia and had amazing experiences that changed my life. I learned as much about the West (how we are) as I did about the East (how they are). The richness of the Asian cultures will stay with me. I had the opportunity to do research on the design boom in China and after 4 years was able to publish China's Design Revolution with MIT Press. I am currently the Dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology. Prior to that I was a Director, then Dean at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for 7 years.
