This is the second series that I have read recently of Lea Wait and I am enjoying this series as much as I enjoyed the first one. This is the third book and I have already downloaded the next one to start this afternoon. I highly recommend this author and this series.
Maggie's story continues on the campus of Somerset County College where she is asked to be a faculty adviser to young students at the Somerset Whitcomb House established for single parent students. Maggie gets embroiled in the lives of the students, when one is poisoned. Suspects abound and Maggie gets exposed to single parenthood, something she is considering. The reader gets introduced to college politics, wealth funding and the strings attached. Another student is poisoned and killed as the story moves along into a web of deceit, secrets, blackmail and lies. As always a tight plot well executed. Good read!
"Spoilers ahead" I generally like the "antique print" series and really enjoy the info about antique prints, but this time the author had Maggie do REALLY STUPID thongs to move the story along. She really thought it was okay to not turn the briefcase over to the police immediately? Come on. That is just stupid behavior. Also the way she wanted to keep the child even when she found out about the grandmothers presence was creepy. Still, I do like the series overall. This one was not the best though. Please don't make Maggie a moron.
