With a light heart I read this book before sleeping, it washes away my worries gets me in a relaxed mood. And makes me giggle before sleeping. Love it. Well written. When you hold it just feels really good. Yeh a feel good book!!!
Overall this was an easy read. I did find that it rambled on at times but I decided to read just a bit at a time and found it much more enjoyable. Ellen's views on things are hilarious and non judgemental. If you enjoy her talk show, you will enjoy this book!
As usual, Ellen makes you laugh out loud when you least expect it! The book is very funny but at times the jokes are almost predictable. This does not take away from the fact that Ellen always leaves you feeling happy.
I found this book to be very entertaining. It does read like a "stand-up routine" but the insights that she shares both personally and generically are very interesting. Ellen delivers some food for thought with her musings. It's both funny and soulful.
Ellen has shared about her important life events that changed everything for her. Her mind wanders and it's so great to know that I was not the only one getting weird thoughts just about everything.
Every time you feel low you don't anymore have to go talk to a friend because Ellen is talking to us in this book so you can just talk back to Ellen.I am trying to tell you that you should carry this book everywhere you go.
After reading certain chapters I was so inspired that I wanted to put what Ellen said into practice so I did the following stuff
Before I tell the things I did there were things that happened to me when reading the book
- I lost few pounds as I read the book without a break so that means no food and water
- I browsed on wikihow and found tips for shinier hair
Chapters and what happened
~ when I read a chapter about taking risks
I sent my best friend a lizard pic and now I am lonely
I rhymed on all my texts and now I have no Whatsapp messages
I picked a fight with my husband because I wanted to send long meaningless texts
~ when I read how important it is to slow down
I Didn't rush over to pick my 8 month old daughter when she fell from the crib because I have learnt to slow down and when I almost reached my daughter she became a teenager
~ when I read that it is important to declutter
I rushed to the wash and picked the tiny piece of soap I saved since 15 long years and trashed it. It was heartbreaking but I will get through
~ when I read about being honesty
I wrote a letter to all expecting moms letting them know the truth about parenting and posted in a mums group and gained 2 likes ( and ppl hate me more there. Admin was asleep so I am still part of the group)
A book that's more fun than AFV, until the show airs at least
Seriously...i'm not kidding. This book like Ellen's others had me in stitches. I was in my own little world giggling away and getting a few odd looks. I'm glad I found her books couple months back, I honestly didn't know she was an author. They cheer you up and are very easy to read. So waiting with anticipation for the next one. Maybe I'll have to wait 13 years, hey I'm not kidding. Took them that long to do a finding memo sequel. Have fun I did.

As a longtime big fan of Ellen I really enjoyed this book. Admittedly it's not the type that I would read multiple times but it was a lovely read and very interesting insight to Ellen's life and career.
Ellen is hilarious but this reads a bit too much like a joke book, like she sat down to fill the pages with whatever rubbish came into her head, and it isn't the best material she has ever created. Funny but a bit forced and the format is very bloggy.
