It was so stupid, annoying, aggravating and oh.. did I mention stupid?
It’s my fault. I mean I read the reviews, I knew the chances for this to be a bust were high but I mean can you blame me? Look at that COVER, it’s what wet dreams are made of 🙈
The whole Liz thing was so annoying, she was awful and Mick was pathetic.
The characters in this book are up there with the most one dimensional characters I’ve had the bad luck of reading.
Next book is gonna be about Liz - the awful witch so yeah, not even the cover aesthetics are gonna make me try that one. You can’t have a character be so... ughh and then all of a sudden they turn into mother Theresa?! That’s not character development, it’s plain stupid, you need skills to be able to make that work, skills that are lacking by the look of this book..
At least I didn’t waste that much time on this book because I realised it was trash so I skimmed..
Now, I’m gonna be honest and say that I’m tempted to try the later book in the series.. praying that they’re better 🤞🏻
These covers.. they are just perfect for a sports romance series, I wanna look at them .. a lot!

In book one in the series, we are introduced to single mum and hardworking event planner Tara, and Mick who is a highly successful/famous football player. When these two meet it’s a case of insta-lust.
This started well and I was engaged but as the book progressed it just felt like a lot of sex and not the depth I wanted, don’t get me wrong the steam was generally well written, although after a while I did skip those parts. I was in the mood for a little more substance and this book didn’t give me that.
I also found some of Tara’s reactions over the top, a little overdramatic, but there were some nice moments.

The first of many stories and what a great start this book is. Hot, sexy relationships and great characters that set this series in motion.
We are introduced to Tara and Mick.
Tara is a hard working, determind and driven Events planner. Setting up her business two years ago is making a great start. Her family consists of her and her Son and she is determind to protect him at all costs and give him everything she never had.
Mick is a successful football player, hot and rich and usually appears in the press with different woman draped on his arm, a real playboy in a jetset lifestyle.
Mick is not the guy that Tara wants to get caught up in a long term relationship. Knowing that Mick will run for the hills when he finds out she has a son, She is not willing to set her or her son up for the hurt that Mick's lifestyle will bring. So after a night of fun, she didn't expect Mick to chase her down or that she has to blow him off.
The relationship is a steamy start and a battle of emotion and wills. Can they open their hearts and share their secrets?
Written in both Mick and Tara's view the story opens up to both their feelings and experiences. It's an addictive story.
I did feel that the connection between the two was a little lacking in something, but the overall story was great and i will definitly read the series.
There are other books in this series that follow on from characters in this book.
The next in this series is: 2 Changing the game 3 Taking a shot 4 Playing to win

Loved this book for an. Erotic romance it has a nice storyline, I have not read this author before this is the first in a new series in this book Mick is the quarter back of a football team and Tara is an event planner. When Tara plans a party for the team she and Mick meet they spend a night together, Mick would like to see her again but she is not so keen, she has got a teenage son to consider, who she puts first. But Mick is determined and persues her this is their story, their are lots of hot sex scenes and the book is well written. I have already pre-ordered the next one in the series, if you enjoy writers like bella Andre ect., I am sure you will like this.

I love this story, and it's one I like to reread a lot. As the two main characters are really likable, as is Nathan (Tara's son) And the entire Riley family. Not to mention it is hot!! And it's a great start to the Play By Play series.
