5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent book for older children and adults to read

I chose this book because it was recommended by Mighty Girl. It is the story of a 12 yr old genius with ASD. Her struggle to find her way after the loss of her parents and how she affects those around her in such a positive way is a heartwarming and interesting story. I highly recommend this for all children who are struggling with differences. I could not put this book down.

I've read this with several children who loved it (as did I). It deals with very difficult issues - grief, loss, feeling alone, feeling different - in a very sensitive and human way. The story is full of warmth and humour.
For anyone of any age, this book is just magical and I'll be recommending it to everyone I meet for years to come - beautiful writing, a wonderful story without being at all mawkish and not for a second making it seem weird that some children are a bit different. Because everyone is, right?
I had longed to read this book. And I would do anything to snuggle up in a cozy nook and read it. I would give this book a five star rating but my kindle has gone completely bonkers. Also I tend to have trouble with kindles. Either because the kindle hates me or that my fingers are slightly too fat for the kindles small buttons. Anyway I am going off topic here I totally recommend you read this book!
5.0 out of 5 starsRe-read and re-read and re-read again by my 12 year old.

My 12 year old daughter ADORES this book. She's re-read it so many times this summer as she thinks it's beautiful. She reads a lot, and is quite choosy about what she returns to - so for all those bookies out there, this is a keeper.
