Comprehensive detail on every type of marketing imagined, coupled with helpful examples from companies who excel in each type of marketing described. The author's formula for the Critical Path Brainstorm is helpful for narrowing down which marketing tactic is best suited for YOUR business.
I read 50+ business books a year. I don't remember the last time I did a review.
This book deserves a review if only for how it inspired me.
If you're a growth hacker or a VP of Marketing like me get the book. As one reviewer pointed out you can find all of this information for free in dozens of other blogs. And he's right. But I don't have that kind of time. I very much appreciated the curation and condensing of information by the author. I was able to read this book and implement a non-obvious growth hack in the course of a weekend. And the hack was 100% successful. Wow. Did that ever feel good. And yes there are too many mentions of Duck Duck Go. But I'm fine with it. Duck Duck Go is not my type of search engine but I gladly tolerated this product placement for the rewards that awaited me. If anybody wants to swap growth hack strategies contact me. I'm very easy to find.
I thought it was a great book and learned many things. It is an invaluable resource and look forward to an updated 2.0 version that might cover a few channels that weren't around in 2015 when this book was published. Overall, still worth every penny as of Feb 2018.
A brief yet at the same time thorough overview of all the traction channels one has the ability to implement in through the course of their start-up. As well an underlying narrative of when and how to split your time between product & marketing. Great read
Great overview of the channels, strategies, and tools all companies should test to achieve their growth objectives. The value is far more valuable than the price so I would highly recommend Traction to anyone looking to grow their business.

As a startup founder looking at various marketing options it's hard to find real world examples of what works. This book is simply the best, nothing like it available at the present time. The authors have been there, done it and got the t-shirt and the number of real world examples from well known startup founders that they have interviewed is really impressive. If you are starting or have started an internet business you can't fail reading this, it really is a great read.
4.0 out of 5 starsLots of useful info, but needs updating.

Good book with many helpful ideas for getting traction for a new business, but quite a lot of the online advice is outdated. 2015 is a long time ago in terms of digital marketing. It's definitely time for a new edition, or at least a website that offers current digital advice.
5.0 out of 5 starsOne of the best business/marketing book of my life

One of the best business/marketing book of my life. Next toe Seth Godin-Permission marketing and Cialdini - Persuasion. I know now why some of my startups failed and what I should have done differently. A must read.

I like that this book provides lots of practical advice and a broad overview of many marketing channels. A key insight is how these channels contribute to one another with one channel being the main one for your business
