Toni Anderson has added another very entertaining romantic suspense novel to her Cold Justice series. The plot deals with a white supremacist group that has suddenly reappeared in the Washington, DC region after supposedly being dismantled in an Idaho rural setting 20 years previously. As usual, the author does a great job in presenting her two endearing characters, Steve, an FBI agent who had started his career by working undercover in the Idaho sect leading to its apparent demise, and Tess, the daughter of the deceased former sect leader who with her younger brother had fled the unhappiness of her early upbringing. Two characters, Fraser and Parker, from past books in the series appear to provide much needed assistance to the hero and heroine.
Completely captivating from nearly the beginning to the insane plot twists at the end!! Just when you think you have the story figured out, there's another twist sending you in a new direction. It was nice to see Mac again after the mall attack and good to know Fraser and Parker are doing well! If you haven't read the Cold Series you need to start! This whole series is amazing, the kind of books you want to read over and over again.
So sorry when this 5 star book came to an end. Thoroughly enjoyed it and did not see the end twist coming. Can't believe that every book is so different and all so good. This is book 8 and I am still enjoying them and looking forward to book 9.

Cold Malice was a great read. From the very beginning I was hooked by the masterfully written 1st Chapter. The book is topical (white supremacists/cult/terrorism), exciting and contains Toni Anderson's trade mark surprising twists and humorous quips not to mention plenty of passion and emotional challenges. I hope to see it made into a movie some day!
As a great fan of Toni Anderson's books, discovering Cold Malice on one of those seemingly 5 minute free offers was a surprising treat. Thrilling plot, carefully introduced and believable characters, with an unexpected twist in the end. Fully deserving of high star rating. My one criticism is the persistent use of acronyms for various FBI or police departments. Whilst these were initially explained, their constant use was a cause of confused irritation to me as I soon forgot which was which. They were impossible to pronounce, so not really a word, and I eventually just ignored each and every one. Most readers will not be in law enforcement and will face the same problem as me. I prefer to understand what I read so can only rate this 4*. Shame because it's a terrific book.

Cold blooded murder, twists and turns and an end you didn't see coming. Mac and Tess find it hard to trust each other, but are unexplicitly drawn to each other with their past colliding with the present with an explosive outcome.
The author really seems to know their stuff. I love this series and the characters. Each can be read as a stand alone but it's best to read in order. A few of the characters from previous books were in this one and each have different personalities. I like how the author gives us the point of view from the killers too. Great book.
