What an awfully written and poorly thought out book. Trite advice with unrealistic hypothetical scenarios. The author states she is not a psychologist or psychiatrist and this is painfully obvious.
Don’t take her advice. Don’t listen to her contradictions (and there are many). Seek counselling and find a therapist that can provide the support you need to make the decision that is right for you and your circumstances.
Dr. Ruth is definitely more than a sex therapist and this book certainly proves she is an excellent couples therapist as well. I like the way she always tells the truth and doesn't let you side step the real issues. This book has made me think and realize life is too short to be unhappy, even for the benefit of others. I highly recommend this book if you are questioning your relationship and not sure what to do about it. I felt like I was getting advice from a good friend. Easy to read and understand and makes so much sense.
