I was interested in his five day low calorie version of fasting and had great success with the process. I still do OMAD (one meal a day) most days, but sometimes I do this long fast as well as three day water fasting. It helps me heal injuries and inflammation and is not as brutal as the water fast.
This is the best health book you could read. Easy to follow healthy eating, tried the fasting mimicking diet and feel great. Definitely following all of his work.
I'm not convinced after the reading. Seems more like a Mediterranean diet derivative with a vegetarian focus. No notion of inflammation that may be caused by carbs or gluten as proved by many scientific research.
1.0 out of 5 starsA book is better than an actual add, right?

This hurts. I've admired Dr. Longo's ingenuity, creativity and genius for a while now. Loved one of his documentaries on FireStick...watched podcasts and interviews. Loved each and every single one of them.
Then I bought this book. It all fell appart for me. I'd have returned it if it wasn't because I had earmarked a few pages.
First few parts of the book are mostly autobiographical. Call me crazy but I was not that interested in that portion of the book. I mean, he's lead a very rich life, I just don't want to pay to hear about it. Tell me all about it over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, for free.
The rest of the book is a huge sale on his Prolon FMD product. Which is fine. I'd would have loved to know what I was getting myself into before actually paying to buy advertising.
IF, and that is a big IF, you are not familiar at all with fasting and its benefits it will serve you better to watch his documentary. Also, there is another great documentary about fasting, etc. called The Science of Fasting. Both are great.
IF you are unable to fast for health or weight loss due to health issues or social issues or whatever, then sure, you can pay to get the FMD Prolon info from his book ...or...you could get it for free on his website.
Hope this helps someone not waste their hard earned pesos.

I bought The Longevity Diet: Slow Aging, Fight Disease, Optimize Weight thinking it would be update on his previous book of just under 2 years because the title was slightly different. No the only thing that's changed is the cover. I see some customers are buying both books as well.
Very disappointed- was hoping to get a clear meal plan to follow- but just a lot of theory and no real inspiring guidance to follow..... complicated and confusing.

Excellent book, Dreadfully bound 🧐

Dreadful binding on the book, pages fall out extremely easily just by turning them. Frustrating as it’s such an interesting read.
