Simon Sinek has a writing style that is easy to get into. Great eye-opening concepts in this book. While he may go on a little much about finite / infinite approaches, it is, after all, what the book is about. Highly recommended for anyone taking a leadership role in any capacity.
This book is sufficiently short to read slowly and savour. The "infinite games" establish the widest frames possible for thinking and I found I needed time to ruminate on the implications of each proposition I encountered as I progressed through the book. A truly inspiring read.
Business and life are infinite games - no time limit, no winners yet so many of us treat them like finite games. Lots of great lessons but my favourite was “...knowing who our worthy rivals are is the best way to help us improve and adapt before it’s too late.”
'The Infinite Game', by Simon Sinek, redefines business in a grander context. This book reveals truth to be found in enduring success, and has helped me better understand and communicate how I organize my life. It's the way I choose to run my businesses. I use Sinek's work in my coaching practice, and liberally gift this book to clients.
What else can be said? Leadership, building strong teams, building the right vision of the place of your business that will last beyond the owners (Just Cause), having the balls to lead and knowing when to change - this book was without a doubt the most insightful read of the last few years.
