This is by far one of my favorite summer reads. It's smart, captivating and shows a real love story. It doesn't happen overnight and is a lot more realistic in the sense that it takes place over a longer period of time with no old fashion caveman grunts and 'she's mine' nonsense. The main characters Zoe and Dylan are adorable and relatable. Zoe's fast paced talking and weird quirks make her one of my favorite characters and Dylan's tough exterior and dedication to bettering himself make him the perfect man. I 1000% recommend reading this!!
The Hardest Fall was my first Ella Maise book, and will certainly not be my last. Dylan Reed … just WOW. After that epilogue, I’m speechless. It. Was. Perfect!
“When life throws you a wide receiver out of nowhere, what are you supposed to do with him? Try your best not to look at him for too long, maybe? That’d be a good rule of thumb, I thought.”
This book will take you on a journey! I have to admit, I did have a difficult time getting into it. But I could not be happier that I continued reading, and got to fully experience Dylan & Zoe’s story. The pace of the book was fantastic. The anticipation. The secrets. The love. The heartbreak. It all just seeps from the pages. The Hardest Fall made me smile like a fool, and I have absolutely no regrets!
“He was the dream, the one you always wanted to end up with, the other half of your soul, if you believed in that kind of thing.”
Zoe’s quirks were adorable because she so unapologetically rocked them. I loved watching her growth! Then we have Mr. Dylan Reed ya’ll. He checks all those necessary book boyfriends boxes. These “buddies” are each other’s balance. Trust me, you won’t regret picking up this friends-to-lovers, college romance. Definitely recommend!!
It does not happen very often that you get s story with believable characters and a true to life storyline. Most romances are rushed and the timing is just not realistic. Not so the case with Dylan and Zoe. They are amazing characters and you can't help by cheer for them. Zoe is an amazingly quirky girl and there were several times in the story when I was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down my face. Dylan is definitely a fantastic romantic here. He's not perfect, he has his flaws, but he is a sweetie at heart. I am looking forward to reading more stories by Ella Maise.
Who wouldn’t fall hard for Dylan?! This book gripped me immediately and the anticipation for what was going to happen next, what I wanted and hoped was going to happen, kept me reading nonstop.
A hilarious and extremely awkward first meeting followed by another amusing and awkward second meeting, but the third meeting was the craziest, funniest and most awkward of all! Random run ins, circumstances that never seem to jive and a first kiss that doesn’t seem like it’ll happen make for some very entertaining reading.
Zoe is beautiful, incredibly shy, adorably awkward, quirky, and can ramble on like nobody’s business, while Dylan is sexy football player who is all hard bodied muscle, self-assured, amazingly sweet, and hot hot hot. When these two finally get to spend more time together instead of being two ships passing (or should I say, colliding) in the night, they become “buddies”. The story definitely takes an unexpected turn that I did not see coming, and I love when an author can do that! This book literally has everything you could want and more.
I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary review. This is my very first book by this author who I never heard of but decided to take a chance on. Her blurb drew me in. But Dylan hooked lined and sinkered me. Dylan is truly amazing, he's the perfect package. You want him but won't stop cause you want more and more of everything he has offer. Like I said perfect package. Zoe at first I thought she was shady, but now I adore her, she's the perfect breath of fresh air. I've said this so many times I don't believe a boy and girl that are straight can be just friends.
