I recently discovered Lisa Jewell.....loved everything I have read so far. This book is right up my alley. I love quirky characters which abound here. After reading "where'd you go Bernadette" and "the Rosie project", I thought nothing could compare....but Roomates Wanted satisfied my craving for a good read with interesting characters...even though written a while ago.
I was very excited to read this book since I’ve had over 40 roommates in my house in the past decade. There was so much potential and upon the first few chapters I gave up and put it in my bookcase. Maybe I should give it another shot? Sure, but I don’t have the energy to hack my way through it.
I enjoyed this novel. I think I'd enjoy reading a grocery list if it were written by Lisa Jewell! It's not her best work but it is well worth reading. I laughed aloud many times during this book, I'd say it is her most humorous, anyway. In the UK this book is titled '31 Dream Street', so be warned if you've read that one, 'Roommates Wanted' is exactly the same book! Sometimes it's a bit confusing when publishers do that.
