Holy smokes, this book was an intense ride, emotionally and mentally! I was enthralled from the beginning and didn't want it to end. You were thrown into the action and things were showcased about the world that we unfortunately still live in. I would never want to be put through what Quentin and Haley go through! I was on the edge of my seat and needed to know what happened next before I could this book down. You really feel like you're trying to figure out the problems along with the characters and man does it keep you guessing and on your toes. Toni writes books that are so realistic and I cannot get enough of them! This book was an amazing, thrilling ride and will leave you so satisfied yet, wanting more of these characters and stories. I loved Quentin and Haley, they are what kept me going through the hard times, just as they were there for each other. Another outstanding read by Toni!
Quinten, an FBI Negotiator at a conference overseas, targeted. Hayley, a CEO of a security company are put together unexpectedly and they take advantage of their time, but it's cut short and by what is so dark and very deadly. Jumping across a balcony was the first and least daring action that Hayley did over her time overseas. The action started non-stop after that. The plot was very intricate, and suspenseful and definitely a page turner. There was no softness in the characters to what they encountered. Add in Hayley and Eban and the other supporting cast of characters and you have one awesome story. I loved it. The ending I was not expecting whatsoever, totally threw me. I highly recommend Ms. Anderson's books and this series. Can't wait to read the next.
I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
What could be a more thrilling read than being kidnapped by terrorists in the Indonesian islands? Thankfully, Alex Parker's business partner, Haley is kidnapped with one of the FBI's best negotiators. Quentin isn't your typical bad boy dark and sexy guy like Alex. His calmness and clearheadedness even in the face of impossible odds and threats of torture is even sexier than you would imagine. Haley's tragic past makes her less tough than the author's typical heroine and unable to save herself but she still finds ways to kick some butt in a more intellectual way. This story requires them to both keep their heads and work together to save themselves. They are all on edge the entire story, waiting to find out if they will survive long enough to get home. In the mean time, they have each other and the intense attraction they have.
To be honest I hated Haley. She wasn’t “strong or brave” as they tried to make her. To be honest she worked in a mans world and didn’t have any sense of self preservation for a victim. I also hate promiscuity and the thought of being with one of my boyfriends friends beforehand is gross. Absolutely gross.
Excellent well worth the wait, loved the whole book. Awesome what a ride I read and read not wanting to put it down. Romantic Suspense at its best so glad I have all the earlier series all gripping stories . I recommend to everyone to get into this series hope for more soon please!! Thanks
Absolutely loved this book. Haley and Quentins story was an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. Haley was a strong character whose past had given her issues but she worked through them, and Quentin was gorgeous.

Excellent story that pulls you in. Read almost all of the Cold Justice books now and I love the fact that all the stories are different. Every character is individual, some appear in other stories which gives continuity and a sense of team. But the books are still stand alone. I haven't read them in order. I will read them again. Heartbreaking story subject handled well with twists and turns to keep you on edge.
