Crystal Kaswell does it again. Dirty Deal is a well-written, well-plotted, and incredibly engaging contemporary romance. After the first few sentences, I was hooked and captivated to the end. Kaswell's characters are well-developed, bold, and wholly authentic with a compelling back story, making them relatable. The storyline was fantastic, Kat and Blake's journey had it's ups, downs, and even frustrating moments and loads of steam. Kat had to deal with the trauma of losing her parents, then the responsibility of raising her sister Liz and added financial obligations. Amidst her struggles, Kat meets Blake, a successful, hot, and arrogant alpha with a lucrative proposition. He offers her a million-dollar, mortgage payments, and a scholarship for Liz in exchange to be his wife for six months. The catch is, not to fall in love. I loved how everything played out and thoroughly enjoyed Cat and Blake's journey.
Virginia Rose did an outstanding job with the narration. She captured the characters' personalities, emotions, and their connection, bringing them to life. Overall, Dirty Deal was a highly entertaining and enjoyable listen, one I'll strongly recommend.
4.0 out of 5 starsQuite enjoyable and entertaining

I previously read this under the old title but I really didn’t remember much as I read a lot so I enjoyed it as a new read. The author added enough to make it feel as a new read. This story is about Kat and Blake. Kate basically runs right into Blake. Blake is a man made billionaire in the tech business. After he finished helping her to work after their banging into each other encounter, Blake shows back up and makes a girl an offer she can’t refuse - accept it’s not a proposal, it’s a job - marry him for six months to a year and he’ll give her anything she wants plus a million dollars after they divorce. Blake warns her this is a business deal and he will never love her. Kat is barely making it from pay day to pay day and needs some help desperately and she has her sister Lizzie to help as they lost their parents 3 years ago. Blake is clear he doesn’t have the capacity to love but their attraction is sizzling hot. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from HiddenGems.
I’ve read a lot of crystal’s books and I have to say this is unlike anything I’ve ever read from her.
Blakeand Kat have an arrangement. And arrangement that Kat thinks she can handle. Until it all gets too real. She isn’t suppose to fall in love, but she can’t stop it. Can she walk away from Blake? Will Blake actually admit to himself that he can love? This book is complicated and sexy. And you won’t be able to put it down once you start it! Addictive is a good word for the book!

5.0 out of 5 starsScintillatingly Sensual Experience
Reviewed in Canada on March 6, 2019
A scintillatingly sensual experience. The main male character is a very self-assured, strong-willed, determined, authoritative man. The main female character is a strong-willed woman when concerning her family, who she is devoted to. She does have an innate desire to release all her cares into the trusted hands of the main male character.
Good: story, characterizations, romance.

4.0 out of 5 starsWOW ... talk about sex scenes ... they are HOT!

Kat's parents died in a car accident when she was 18 and she has been responsible for her 15 year old sister Lizzy ever since. She has been working as a waitress to make ends meet and try and meet her goal of sending Lizzie to college so Lizzie can have a better life. On her way out of an office job interview, she bumps into Blake. Blake can see that she is desperate for a job, and he just happens to need a pretend girlfriend. So he offers to pay for Lizzie's school and pay off her mortgage if she'll agree to be his girlfriend and pretend to be madly in love with him. Anything that happens in the bedroom is because she wants it and it can't ever go anywhere because Blake is incapable of love.
WOW ... talk about sex scenes ... they are HOT! There were a few places that I would have liked to know what was going on in Blake's head ... why he made the choices he did. Sometimes I just wanted to shake Kat and tell her to leave him in the dust because he didn't deserve her ... and isn't that the signs of a good book when you get emotionally involved. Can't wait for 2nd book (Lizzy's) in the series.
4.0 out of 5 starsA Chance Encounter Leads to Love
Reviewed in Canada on October 23, 2017
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary review. Another great story from Crystal. A chance encounter for Kat as she trips over Blake in the street leads to an offer to marry him for a million dollars. Something to think about for Kat as she is struggling to support her sister and herself after their parents have died. Kat decides to go along with it telling herself that she will not fall in love with Blake as he says he is unable to love. As all good love stories should it ends with a HAE. A great read for an evening by the fire with a glass of wine. I gave this story 4 stars only because it was not one of my personal favourites from Crystal, I am more a fan of her rock music books.
Billionaire Blake and watress Kay - This story and its main characters made me smile - a lot!! It also made me angry, frustrated, sad, so sad that I actually cried twice!! There was intensity, incredible heat, attraction and passion between Blake and Kat that could melt leather and I am sure it came awfully close several times in that limo! Their story is so consuming that when you start it know you won't be able to put it down until the very last moment - hide somewhere if you need to ;) DEFINITELY buy and read their story or you'll really miss out on something incredibly special if you don't!
A really enjoyable love story full of romance of a sort and with little everything-has-gone-wrong angst. Read it in less than a day as it was really satisfying seeing how things moved towards the required HEA ending. Decent length epilogue too, so you knew more about how things progressed.
Didn't enjoy this book, not a very good introduction to the characters, weak story with similarities to The Fifty Shade series. Although they are better written. A lot of explicit sex repeated throughout the book. Wouldn't recommend.
