This book was one exhausting journey to a disappointing conclusion. The plot dragged on with only the suspense of who the ' zookeeper' could possibly be. The topics are heavy but I found myself not connecting or liking the lead character Senna. She is unnecessarily annoying and some plot aspects made no sense in explaining why she was so rude and annoying. The story ended with a ridiculous weaving of shallow explanations. Hated this book. Loved other works by this author and narrator (great performance) was the only reason why I muddled through it until the end.

It is thrilling.

I appreciated the suspense and mystery. It did have me hooked on where the story was heading and the plot had a few twists. In the end it was definitely worth a listen.

Had potential.

This book was a slow burn..then confusing burn..then it hits you with a curious confusion that provides intrigue ..then more confusion regarding plot lines and time lines .Ultimately it fell flat in logic and the reveal was disappointing.Overall it is a readable book. Not good, not bad..just a story with holes in the plot that never really get filled.

This book keeps you engaged to the end. I am not sure how I expected it to end but after misleading and insinuating and twisting the story...it was good but ultimately not great.I HAVE NO REGRETS BUYING AND LISTENING. ENJOYED IT OVERALL.

It was okay...enjoyed overall.

The story fumbled in the beginning but quickly we acclimated to the storylines and characters. The mini story plots were just okay. The ending that was supposed to tie it all together in a climatic moment , kinda felt rushed but it was heartfelt and a reminder of the fragility of life.I wish the side storylines were more interesting but still a solid read.

This book was slow and winding on its way to plot line. There were sooo many pointless moments that were empty words, not adding to the story or even vaguely intetesting. The flashing back and forth between generations was the big draw but there could've been so much more to how it played out within storylines. I wanted to love it but ultimately it was anticlimactic and took too long to get to the suspenseful , interesting bits.Love Invisible Girl but this one was just 'meh'.

Finally...a good book

I have struggled to find good books that actually grip me and leave me wanting to delve back in every chance I get....a book that I wouldn't want to end because I know it would be over...this was it.Narrators were all excellent especially the Sapphire voice actor.Very intriguing story and very clever end.Loved it !!

It was slow in some chapters during the beginning but overall it was written well. The storyline could've used some development especially between Low and Freya .Some plots were predictable, others were surprising. It was a Lifetime movie level but narrator(s) were good and it was suspenseful in the last half of the book.Good overall.

Please change the narrator. His verbal expression ,tone and style is annoying. If I can't actively listen to the book,it is useless. He overly pronounces the last letter in words and has a weird breathing pattern in his sentences. It sounds like he is adding "ah" at the end of words,so 'home' sounds like 'home-ah' etc.
I never knew the importance of a good narrator until realizing what a horrible one sounds like.

This book was just fair.It wasn't sensational or exciting. It was just an okay story with a few storylines that were interesting. The hints of overcoming abuse, were more of a referenced sub plot that something we experienced with the narrator. These were plots that I wish had more depth and better developed storyline but issues were quickly resolved and maybe more scandalous for older persons from that culture who may gasp at the details shared. I am glad the end was positive but overall it just wasn't enough.
