The year is 1924. Only a few years removed from the trenches of Flanders, Lieutenant Eric Peterkin has just been granted membership in the most prestigious soldiers-only club in London: the Britannia. But when a gentleman's wager ends with a member stabbed to death, the victim's last words echo in the lieutenant's head: that he would "Soon right a great wrong from the past".  Eric is certain one of his fellow members is the murderer. I would highly recommend this story. The author has created an intelligent and enjoyable murder mystery. He also has done a significant amount of research.

An excellent narrator that perfectly fits the story.

I found the ending of this book to be extremely frustrating and I will not be purchasing another audiobook from the author. Mild spoilers below.

The majority of the book is a bunch is filler with numerous red herring, absurd characters that leads you to guess the actual killers identify based on the fact they are the most normal individual in the story. The true killers motivations are basically an after thought and but revealed until the end of the story.

The only thing worthwhile is the narration by James Marsters, but this is brought down by some of awful dialogue he has to read. There is also nothing but derogatory descriptions of women.

A natural storyteller and raconteur in his own right - just listen to Paddle Your Own Canoe and Gumption - actor, comedian, carpenter, and all-around manly man Nick Offerman ( Parks and Recreation) brings his distinctive baritone and a fine-tuned comic versatility to Twain's writing. In a knockout performance, he doesn't so much as read Twain's words as he does rejoice in them, delighting in the hijinks of Tom - whom he lovingly refers to as a "great scam artist" and "true American hero".
