A human diplomat creates an interstellar incident when he kills an alien diplomat in a most unusual way. To avoid war, Earth's government must find an equally unusual object: A type of sheep ("The Android's Dream"), used in the alien race's coronation ceremony. To find the sheep, the government turns to Harry Creek, ex-cop, war hero and hacker extraordinaire.

The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the Native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon came ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There went the good old days, when humans got killed only by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

If you’re like me and loved The Exapnse series and wanted more, you probably stumbled on this one like I did. It’s good, but hard to get into, there’s a lot of military slang and stuff, it’s not hard science, the aliens are pretty cliche (hamsters, lizards, beetles etc.) and the first book has got a lot of building to do to set way for the following books and building the world, once you get through that though it gets quite entertaining and enjoyable, especially once’s Skippy gets introduced! So give it a go! I promise it gets better!

R. C. Bray is a fantastic reader, you can always tell which character is speaking without the typical he said she said, the story is quite entertaining and the characters are good once you get into it, the banter is quite humorous!

Somewhere in the vast expanse of space, a group of prisoners lives in permanent captivity. The only company they have is each other and the Belters who guard them. The only stories they know are the triumphs and crimes that brought them there. The only future they see is an empty life in an enormous room.

The writing was good, just like all the books before it... however it follows the scientists who set up the Eros experiment decades after the fact. Which after finishing the next two books, didn’t include anything from this book... making it completely pointless... unless of course getting to know random side characters that have zero relevance to the current story is your thing, I’d say save your credits...
