Harlan Coben was the very first book I read, as recommended by my best friend, after years of no desire to read (or even listen to) a book! She said to start with one of his and said I would enjoy "The Woods" by Coben. I only ever read what I absolutely had to and for 20 years or more never picked up a book for entertainment purposes. So I listened to that book and was thoroughly entertained. My Mom always believed that my dislike of reading was due to the types of books I was required to read from grades 7-12 (around that time anyway) because as a young girl (toddler to about grade 5 or 6) I used to love reading! Some book topics really negatively affected me and my desire to read slowly dwindled. Harlan Coben's master story telling abilities got me interested in reading again. I think I have listened to all his books and really enjoy them. This book was no different!

It had everything you want in a story. It kept my interest, moved at a good pace, had characters and scenarios one can relate to and if that isn't enough... it had a great "twist". I really thought I knew what the twist was, & to some degree I was correct. However, the twist was much more than your normal reveal and was beautifully woven throughout the novel and was a surprise even I didn't see coming!

Totally worth a credit in my opinion! So what are you waiting for? Purchase this book already:) Lol

Not at all what I expected!

Neither in a good or bad way. I was expecting more "action", and so I was surprised the direction the story took. Some parts dragged on a bit.

I have never seen the movie with Will Smith but as I understand, the movie was very loosely based on the book. So I am interested to see where the movie takes this story line and will have to make the effort to try and watch it.

The narration was brilliant! He really brought the story to life! I will check out his other books he has narrated.

The biggest surprise for me was the ending!! I was like "That's the end!?!?!? It was such a short book, I thought the book was just getting into the guts of the story when it ended. I didn't realize it was under 6 hours. I liked it wasn't a typical happy happy joy joy ending. Some comments the author makes really made me think and allowed me to see a different point of view. I particularly liked the comment on normalcy! (About 3 minutes remaining on chapter 21, the final chapter)

Enjoyable read but a bit lack luster

This is the 3 time I have had to type out this review!! Keep losing it. Not willing to type it out a 4th time!

Ending I found abrupt. Anne Dowd was a real treat!

I give this book 3.5 stars

This was not the best book I have read but nore was it the worst either!

This was an ok story, I felt
It was a completely unrealistic scenario of a family and their drama, lies and omissions and had a very simplistic view of mental health issues. I felt the characters were shallow and very under developed. So many of the scenarios were entirely unrealistic in my opinion.

The idea that no one, in the what 7 months Bella & Judy lived with David's family, ever seen either the mom or daughter? Come on! David constantly saying he deserved what he got was repetitive and annoying. Him saying he "murdered" her annoyed me too. What happened to Julie in David's arms in my opinion was an accident. What ever else happened to her, if anything, is on that person! Not David for not being around.

I am glad I didn't pay full price for the book, but for a couple bucks it was ok & was an easy listen.

Overall this was a cute story

I do believe this is the first book I have read from this author. I enjoyed the characters but at times found Landon's naivety to be quite extreme.

I will say though, if this is anything like what Hollywood truly looks like and acts like, I don't understand the draw to work in it!

Every cat guardian should read this book!

Jackson did an amazing job writing this book! Not only is the information in it very detailed & easy to follow but he has cross referenced so many topics (what I mean by this is when he is talking about a specific topic and refers back to other things he said, he states as an example "for more information on Eat, play, love see chapter..."). This will be awesome for reference when working with people having issues with their cats.
I will update this review when I have more time to write more details. For now I had to give it a 5☆.
The only thing that I was disappointed with is that Jackson wasn't the narrator for his book. Although the narration was really good, it just wasn't Jackson!

This is my first book by K. Bromberg. I found it quite cute, sassy and entertaining. It was even laugh out loud funny in a couple spots. It was an easy listen which was exactly what I needed at the time! The narration was really good from both Erin & Rupert.

If you want something lighthearted and entertaining, I don't think you will be disappointed by this book at all!

Not my favorite book of DS

Although I normally really enjoy DS books, I found this one to be just ok. I found it was quite repetitive in spots, boring in others and far fetched when it came to the horse accident.

There were several times I had to look at my phone because I thought I had somehow rewound parts of the book. Nope! Just repetitive parts.

I had to go back a couple times because I found the book wasn't keeping my attention. So worried I may have missed something important I would go back a chapter. I now know I didn't need to do that, I didn't miss anything important at all. I also found it to be somewhat preachy in spots about the dangers of texting & driving. You can make a point in a novel and move on but in this book I felt preached at.

I am an avid horse women and have spent most of my 46 years around horses. So the riding "accident" in my opinion was highly unlikely! Any horse that has that type of a reaction to a rabbit would NOT be used in a trail ride business much less given to a green rider! This somewhat annoyed me although I am sure most people wouldn't have given it a second thought.

As usual, I love DS's writing style and this book was no different. It was easy to listen to and easy to follow.

The narration was good. I am not familiar with this narrator but felt he did a pretty good job!

Overall I would give this 3.5 ☆'s.

Really enjoyed this story!

I believe this is my first Lisa Jewell novel I have read. I really liked this book and see I already have another one of her books in my library. Think that will be my next read.

Helen Duff did a really good job of narrating. She brought the characters to life and gave them dimension that would would not have been there had I read it myself!

I was so eager to see how this story ended that I finished this book quite quickly. The characters were really great and I quickly was attached to their stories which made the book hard to put down! Worth a credit in my opinion.

More interesting than I thought it would be!

Although the author states 1 in 25 people don't have a conscience and that you pretty much can't go through life without having known one to some degree, I don't believe I have. There is one person that I now question his/her conscience but am not certain they are indeed without a conscience. This book will certainly help me determine that.

This is a great read even if you are not affected by someone who likely has no conscience. The examples are easily relatable and the author does a really good job explaining things. I believe there was only one area she lost me in. Other than that I really enjoyed the book.
