For what the book is about I will leave you to read the publisher's summary.

I was referred this book by a dear friend. She said I would really like it and she was right. It had a great story line with great characters and was easy to follow. The narrator also did a marvelous job. Can't wait to dive in to the next one in the series.

I believe this was my very first book by Danielle Steel. I have to say I found it quite boring and was surprised when it was over. I said out loud "that was it? ". I will say her style of writing I really like so this won't n be the last book I read. I however found it somewhat repetitive. Not sure which book of hers I should try buy this was just so so for me.

I rate this 3.5☆
I have recently become a really big fan of Roberts! I love how she can tell a story with such great character development that you can relate to them all. This book however wasn't my favorite though. I didn't care much for Sophia's character and the interactions between her and Ty.

The beginning had me almost stop a few times. I found it somewhat overwhelming with so many characters & their back stories. I got Donato and Tony mixed up as they were both cheating husband's and I found it hard to follow & keep straight who was who. However once it got a bit further into the story it got better and was easy to follow.

I wasn't overly impressed with the narrator. I just found her somewhat irritating at times. I think it was how she pronounced things in "Italian" I found annoying and not natural.

It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But one person wasn't satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait - and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

I wasn't too sure if I was going to like this book with the topic having to do with a mass shooting. However Nora was able to tastefully tell an interesting story.

The characters were certainly relatable and were very well developed. I like how she was able to weave the effects of such an event into the plot and show how it affects the characters all differently.

The story was engaging and I loved almost all of it. The one part I got tired of hearing over and over again was how Reid kept flirting with the Grandma. Too much and at times was just yuck!

Wow this was a really good read, even since I have never heard of this lady prior to the Daily Deal option to buy this book. Rabbit certainly didn't have a hope in hell of making it out of poverty and of all things normally associated with it. Yet she did! It wasn't because she had a lot of family support either.

I had never even heard of this lady prior to purchasing the book. However with such a high star rating (I believe it was around 4.8 stars) & so many others stating it was a good story and was told with a fair amount of humor throughout, I thought I would give it a go. I am really glad I did! I had several good chuckles and even a few laugh out loud moments. I think what Rabbit never mentioned was that hard work and Mike challenging her to give up the hustle and get a legal job went a long way to getting her out of the drug trade. It helped put her on the right path to a better life for her and her children.

The only complaint I have is there were a couple times I couldn't understand what she had said. Also a few times I didn't understand the lingo she used. I also didn't like how she said "she didn't have a choice" to a couple bad decisions she made throughout. I believe you always have a choice and breaking the law and bringing in young family members to hold product or sell it, is a choice! A bad one at that, but a choice none the less. However it still didn't stop me rating this 5 stars! It was a good easy listen.

I was really looking forward to this book however I just found the "talking dog" aspect was taken way too far. There were times I almost stopped listening, I just found some of it quite corny and predictable and so unrealistic. The narration was great though!

There were parts I rather enjoyed and hence I gave the book an overall the stars. I enjoyed the part where the lawyer is trying to make "the phone call" without the security agency being able to listen in or trace it. This was very well written and thought out in a very entertaining way.
If you can get past a genetically engineered dog that can talk by arranging scrabble tiles to express himself and understands all aspects of human living you will likely enjoy this book. This dog also has an extreme sense of his sixth sense to the point where he is psychic. For me it required far too extreme suspension of disbelief to give it a higher rating.

Also, the story line of the crazy repair man who terrorized Nora was just odd to me. She didn't call the company he worked for to complain not to mention, you would think there would have been several complaints about him prior to it going where it did.

Boy some of Anna's train of thoughts really got on my nerves and I almost turned the book off a couple of time's. I guess that means K.L. Slater did such a good job of building this mentally disturbed lady it got under my skin. However, I can certainly understand Anna's dislike (or hatred) of Carla as she certainly could have made better decisions in the scheme of things. Some of Anna's thoughts got me really irritated and made me think how someone could even see things the way she did. I guess with the"right" set of circumstances anything is possible.

The narrator did a pretty good job of vocally distinguishing between characters and did a great job overall narrating the story. I would look for other books from this author for sure!

This is my first novel by this author. It had a great story line which included material nothing close to anything I have ever read before. How refreshing!

The story was very original and the time went by like that. I couldn't believe it was the end of the book. I actually looked to see if I had a faulty audio version. Nope I didn't.

My only complaint is as time I got confused as to who was who. No big deal, I just had to go back a few times. Still 5 star worthy in my opinion. I presume there is another book in this series and will use a credit to get it!
