As a therapist myself, I found reading this book very open, honest, not to mention well written. I got attached to all the people depicted and was moved to tears a few times. I couldn't put it down. What a wonderful book!

Although I enjoyed finding out what had happened to Ayla and Jondalar after Ayla's agreement to begin training as a Zalandoni, this book vas mostly endless descriptions of cave visits, repetitions on past deeds as told to numerous new characters, and counless retellings of the mother song. I dont regret reading it, but didn't enjoy it as much as the rest of the series, especially the first two novels.

Of the whole series, to me, this book is the best so far, and by an important margin. The characters are interesting and believable, the rythm of the story makes it hard to put the book down, the storyline is original and surprising. So much action! And I also really liked the narrater.

Despite the unappealing cover art, I bought this book because a friend recommended it, and really enjoyed it. The story is detailed, unpredictible, well narrated, highly entertaining and dynamic. A great read!

The whole Mercy Thompson series is great!

I love everything about these action packed adventures by Patricia Briggs. I also love the narrator, Lorelei King. I liked less George Newbern, although chapters from Adam's point of view were new and interesting, and a male narrator made sense.
