In John Scalzi's re-imagining of H. Beam Piper's 1962 sci-fi classic Little Fuzzy, written with the full cooperation of the Piper Estate, Jack Holloway works alone for reasons he doesnt care to talk about. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorps headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporations headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor, prospecting and surveying at his own pace. As for his past, thats not up for discussion.

Like his fellow Reds, he works all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of Mars livable for future generations. Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children. But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet.

#Audible1. The story of how Darrow a Lowly Red is plucked from his mine on Mars where as a Hell diver he is the bravest of his clan, to try and undermine the Society that has oppressed his people for years.

Brilliant tale made better by the Tim Gerard Reynolds Gorry Damn good performance.

I cannot recommend this more highly than this.

Dalinar Kholin's Alethi armies won a fleeting victory at a terrible cost. The enemy Parshendi summoned the violent Everstorm, which now sweeps the world with destruction and in its passing awakens the once peaceful and subservient parshmen to the horror of their millennia-long enslavement by humans. While on a desperate flight to warn his family of the threat, Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with the fact that the newly kindled anger of the parshmen may be wholly justified.

Like the other Stormlight books Oathbringer has a backstory; The Black Thorns Backstory which is rich and bloody and full of grit. While this is Dalinar's story there is plenty of your usual faves. you find out more about the Cosmere and a couple of your characters from Warebreaker show up to cause trouble in the form of Nightblood and a couple others that you will have to piece together for yourself.

The only thing I did not like about the book is that it ended. and I now have to wait for more Stormlight Archive stories.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

Once again Sanderson weaves a rich tale of the struggle of the Allethy as they fight against the Parchendi. Kalidin and Bridge Four find out what it is like to have their lives back and as they do the demons they all but abandoned as slaves return to shape their new reality. Dalinar struggles against foes foreign and domestic. While Shalon and Jansna streak toward the Shattered Planes to let Dalinar know what they have discovered about the Parchendi and their link to the Void Bringingers.

By far my favorite of the Stormlight archive to date.

The narration of Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are again fantastic as they were in the Way of Kings and OathBringer.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Don't bother with the movie, listening to Wil Wheaton perform Ernest Cline's break through novel is 100% times better than going to see Steven Spielberg's movie that only has the title and some characters in common with this Epic romp down geek memory lane.

Listening to this tale of a poor kid living his life online during one of the worst depressions in human history, is a great premise for a novel but layer in all of this nostalgic 80's pop culture references will either take you back to the good ole days or leave you asking what the heck is joust....

After listening to this the first time I went back and watched many of the films and downloaded emulators for the classic arcade games mentioned.

The story is about a Boy Wade Watts who lives in what passes as a trailer park in 2048 OKC. He and most of society spend their lives in a computer simulation called the OASIS. The OASIS is the brainchild of James Halliday, an eccentric developer that creates a grand game within a game for control of his fortune and the worlds most profitable company. Go for a wild ride that includes romance epic battles and the struggle for humanities soul against the evil corporation and its goons.

Cal and Dale are back again in this the followup to Dungeon Born. Dale and Cal continue their struggle for dominance over the area. Dale as a new Peer in both the Kingdoms and Lion and Phoenix, and Cal as the core of a dungeon coming in to its own. There are two threats in the Kingdoms one is a sickness and the other seems to be an army of filthy Necromancers. Enjoy as Cal comes into his own and Dale struggles to cultivate and improve himself so that he can deal with the steady stream of nobles that have started streaming into Mountain Dale.

Vikas Adam is once a gain masterful as the Narrator, is performance continues to make the Divine Dungeon series wildly entertaining.

For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

I originally picked this up as a deal of the week. I did not know what to expect. I loved it from start to finish. Krout's narrative through out the novel can be a little campy at times but it just adds to the enjoyment. Vikas Adam makes this book with his performance and it truly is that a performance.

In the novel you follow the intertwined lives of Cal and Dale one is a newly formed Dungeon Core who with the help of his trusty Wisp Danni is just trying to grow and survive in the hard world. The other is a Sheppard whose life is altered when he and his fellows find a resource that is sure to attract adventures from all over the land a neutral affinity dungeon.

In a word this book if fun. I have listened to it 10-15 times since i picked it up.

Great Job Dakota....
