Even though the subject matter was dark and the social/political commentary was heavy and sometimes a little too on the nose, The Institute was a fun and entertaining stor, with intriguing mystery and imagery. Narration for the most part was great. I'd love a little less trump commentary. Not King's best obviously, but none the less a strong and entertaining book for his CR.

*loved the little Dark Tower references peppered in here and there.

I can't say enough good things about the narrator. He brought this book to life and kept me enthralled every word. His voices are so emersive.

Swan song is a really great and entertaining book. Yes, there are som Stephen king comparisons but so what. And it really is nothing like The Stand once you're in the thick of it. This book deserves more praise, and Tom Stechshulte needs to narrate more suspense/horror novels.

A beautiful Classic. But-

A utterly beautiful and romantically written classic ghost story. It's great but the story is a little boring. I really thought it was a good book but I just wanted there to be more in terms of plot and suspense.

I really don't get the appeal.

I honestly don't understand the appeal of the story. Narrator was fine but man oh man that was boring and confusing. Nothing really happened, and it sort of just ended. I don't recommend it to anyone who saw the show and thought they'd check out the source material. There is virtually nothing comparable to the show other than some names of characters and the name Of the house. The show was decent but it is an example of the type of adaptations that should not continue.

A better haunted mansion read was Hell House.

I'm Not sure if the narrator made the story corny or if she has a corny way about her but she definitely ruined my experience. Her voices were silly at times and took me out of the suspension of disbelief.
Story was really slow at points as well.

It was decent. Nothing amazing

Narrator was okay. He had some questionable choices when characters were ramping up and yelling but he had a decent voice otherwise.
The story was interesting but overall anticlimactic for me.

Honestly I don't understand how anyone can give this book more than 2 stars.
I think the biggest problem is that the concept is great, but it's possibly too big of a concept for a writer that comes off very amateur.
Nond of the scenarios or characters feel real. He throws logic right out the window for 90 percent of the book.
He doesn't properly identify the rules of the world he's created and then follow them. It all seems random.
But maybe the most annoying aspect of his writing is that there is virtually no description. The whole book reads like a shooting script, with only basic action and no emotional aspect to the writing. Plus the dialogue between characters is horrendous.
I have to stop this review or I may take another star away.

Let's just say I've listened to 11 books in the last 3 months and this was the shortest one, but took the longest, had the worst narrator, and was flat out boring. I can't hate this book enough. I really don't understand how people loved it.

There were a couple aduio issues here and there but nothing that ruined the book. Great conclusion to a story you don't want concluded.

Like always, the dark tower series is captivating. George does a decent enough job of narrating but nothing compares to frank Mueller from 2,3,and 4.

King needs to let real narrators narrate.

Definitely worth the read in the dark tower series. The story is the weakest out of the rest but still a fun one, none the less. My only issue with it, is that king narrates it himself. Some people need to stick to what they're good at. You can't be amazing at everything.
