The story itself was quite good, and the narrators all do a good to great job, but one thing took me out of the story almost constantly: the fact that the Six are supposedly 16, 17, 18 years of age. Of course it's YA. But damn. Hard to believe...

Taylor and Porter do it again.

Entrancing sci-fi backed by a top notch read. Do not hesitate: pick this one up. If you'ce enjoyed the Bobiverse, you'll like this one as well.

Characters, writing and story: top notch. I absolutely love this series so far. Koontz can do to YA what he does to Horror. Yet at 38, I enjoy both those genres, under his penmanship, quite equally.

As expected.

There's a bard, a powerful warrior-monk and a toolish girl healer.

Neat wards tho. That's a refreshing take on magic. The various civilizations are a little too close to real-world civs for my taste, mind you, but still. They are well done. Arlin's adoption of the lone wanderer trope after he gets the means to fight the corelings was a bit disappointing, but well anchored in the story nevertheless.

I'll keep listening.
