Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

I knew this was going to be a good listen and I was not disappointed. This classic was brought to life by this fantastic actor. I honestly forgot all of these characters were being done by one person. Bravo Thandie! And thank you Charlotte!

The unapologetic intensity with which Emily Brontë wrote this story ensures that it will forever be considered one of the greatest works of English literature. A passionate tale of a chaotic and often violent love, Wuthering Heights transcends your average romance and, with its Gothic undertones, takes the listener on a journey through one man's lustful hunt for revenge.

I have read all of these books several times and I felt they were a great place to start in my Audible experience. I enjoyed listen as much as reading and watching the series. The narrator did an amazing job of bringing to life the characters I have come to love. I am absolutely hooked on Audible. I will never fold laundry, do dishes or vacuum the house again without a story in my ear. #Audible1

This story took me back to my teen years. That awkwardness when you start to develop “romantic” feelings for another person. The heartbreak when they don’t feel the same way. The narrator does a good job at giving each character their own voices. I’ll definitely be downloading the sequels from this author. #Audible1
