Disillusioned journalist Tom Langdon must get from Washington to L.A. in time for Christmas. Forced to take the train across the country because of a slight "misunderstanding" at airport security, he begins a journey of self-discovery and rude awakenings, mysterious goings-on and thrilling adventures, screwball escapades and holiday magic.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. From the beginning I really liked the main characters Tom and Eleanor and the other characters are really nice and complementary too.

The only part I did not like was the ending, although it is not predictable at all, it actually takes away the element of natural love and destiny (from my perspective).

A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery: Humanity has conquered all those things and has even conquered death. Now Scythes are the only ones who can end life - and they are commanded to do so in order to keep the size of the population under control. Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe - a role that neither wants. These teens must master the "art" of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.

The story is really great! It is way more than I expected and it has a plot twist at the end that I just loved. I really liked every character in the book and how they complement each other and the narrator is really good as well. This is that type of book that just keeps you engaged to the story from beginning to end. I will be listening to the second book and waiting for the third one.

Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

I have never been a fan of these type of stories but I decided to give it a try. The story is very childish and didn't keep me interested all the time. The end was too predictible. I really liked the narrator.
