Twenty-one-year-old Jenilee Lane's dreams are as narrow as the sky is wide. She doesn't imagine any good could come out of the tornado that has ripped across the Missouri farmland where she's made her home. But some inner spark compels her to take action. To rescue her elderly neighbor, Eudora Gibson, from the cellar in which she's been trapped. To make her way to the nearby town of Poetry, where the townspeople have begun to gather in the only building left standing. To collect from the devastated landscape fragments of life that lie strewn about in the tornado's wake.

I really enjoyed Tending Roses so Good Hope Road seemed like a safe bet. It wasn't terrible but I found it fairly boring. I really didn't connect with the characters and didn't care what happened to them. I made it through only because somebody read it to me. If I had to read it on my own, I wouldn't have been able to finish it. Check out Before We Were Yours instead, it's stellar.

Foul-mouthed, quirky, sharp-as-a-whip Hazel never thought she would win the heart of her gorgeous college TA, Josh. And, in fact, she didn’t. But what a difference 10 years can make. Well...10 years, and a lot of legwork.

This is a really cute story. Unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers that it was very difficult to get through the parts read by the male narrator, as his voice for female characters was grating. My skin crawled every time he used it and I never really got used to it. Too bad, but I still liked the story. I also really enjoyed the female narrator.
