Histoire
One of five children, Pat watched as her alcoholic mother struggled to get by on charity, cons, and petty crimes. At age seven, Pat was taught to roll drunks for money. At 12, she was targeted for sex by a man eight years her senior; by 13, she was pregnant. By 15, Pat was a mother of two. Alone at 16, Pat was determined to make a better life for her children. But with no job skills and an eighth-grade education, her options were limited. She learned quickly that hustling and humor were the only tools she had to survive.

Ms.Pat is a tour-de-force, with a story to tell

I was introduced to Ms Pat through the world of podcasts and found her humor on dealing with her past trauma both inspiring and riotous! she is a force to reckon with. Anyone that can make you laugh and cry simultaneously while telling you about getting shot is a true talent! A must read for all as this wonderful lady tells the truth in a tale, not only about the African-American experience... but of America's experience.. and everyone can relate to that.

Histoire
This mesmerizing novel tells the story of a brutal murder in the staid Tokyo suburbs, as a young mother who works the night shift making boxed lunches strangles her abusive husband and then seeks the help of her coworkers to dispose of the body and cover up her crime. The coolly intelligent Masako emerges as the plot's ringleader but quickly discovers that this killing is merely the beginning, as it leads to a terrifying foray into the violent underbelly of Japanese society.

Histoire
Welcome to the troubled world of Sellevision, America's premier retail broadcasting network. When Max Andrews, the much-loved, handsome (but lonely) and gay host of Slumber Party Sundown accidentally exposes himself in front of 60 million kids and their parents during a "Toys for Tots" segment, Sellevision faces its first big scandal. As Max fails to find a new job in TV, another host, the popular and perky Peggy Jean Smythe, is receiving sinister e-mails from a stalker about her appearance.

Robin Miles is the perfect fit for the characters contained within this tawdry tale of the behind-the-scenes antics and anxieties of the hosts of Sellevision.

The funny, sad, super-honest, all-true story of Chelsea Handler’s year of self-discovery - featuring a nerdily brilliant psychiatrist, a shaman, four Chow Chows, some well-placed security cameras, various family members (living and departed), friends, assistants, and a lot of edibles.

insightful. daring. hilarious!

I have been a fan of Chelsea Handler since her debut novel. there have been ups and downs, but with this recent memoir, she manages to guide you through her transformation from the notorious "hot mess" that catapulted her to stardom to a highly introspective figure with a newfound contrarian stance to the counter-culture that has saturated our current time. however, she still manages to make me laugh hysterically while recounting her inability to function within her own home. she has not softened, just matured. No punches are pulled. R.I.P. Chunk + Tammy
