A shocking attack in Ankara leaves the US Ambassador to Turkey dead and his chief of staff, Amanda Allen, in the hands of brutal terrorists. But Allen is no ordinary diplomat. She’s undercover CIA. The DNI and the President turn to Ember, America’s premier black-ops task force, and its deadliest weapon, former Tier One Navy SEAL John Dempsey, for help. To find Allen, Ember gets embedded in the most dangerous battlefield on Earth: Syria. But when all communications are disabled by an attack in Turkey, Dempsey finds himself with no backup.

I've read all the books in this series and enjoyed all of them. The pace is fast with no fluff to waste my time. Great new characters with great potential for the ( hopefully many more) books in this series. Can't wait to see how JD's son is going to be featured. Also the new Amanda Allen character and then of course the unspoken of chemistry between JD and Grimes.....
And the narrator : PLEASE, CAN EVERYONE JUST NARRATE LIKE MR PORTER. OR, CAN WE CLONE HIM??

The US Navy’s most advanced nuclear attack submarine, the USS Omega Deep was the first to disappear. It was followed swiftly by the loss of the Russian spy vessel Yalta and then the Feng Jian, a Chinese aircraft carrier. Sam Reilly and his unique team of troubleshooters are requested at the express order of the president of the United States of America to locate the Omega Deep and determine the cause of these unexplained tragedies before they lead to World War III.

I stumbled on to this book and thought it would be an interesting read which it was. I was so distracted by the narrator that I wanted to stop listening and get my money back. The inflection and tonation of his voice as he was reading spoken sentences from the different characters were horrible. He depicted strong characters in light, weak voices and sounds like he is reading a novel to primary level school children. The book ended with a cliffhanger and I would really like to follow the story along but I don't know if I can bear listening to this for another moment.
Please, please find yourself another narrator!

One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

As a White South African, growing up in the Apartheid era, I was horribly saddened by this sad, honest, brave and heart wrenching story. I have so much respect for Trevor and his family, but it is his mother who is the real hero. She is an example of strength and unremitting courage. I wish them all the best.

Wonderful surprise to recognize the description of the beautiful North shore of BC, Canada. As my first intro to scifi, I'm happy to say that I'll read more books in this genre and more books from this author. I'm very familiar with the narration of Ray Porter, which is how I found this book looking for more books narrated by him!

On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

It started good and then went to ..... It felt like the author was constantly trying to justify the main character's completely overt the top choices in the manner in which he was dealing with the ramifications of the main plot.
And the ending....a major anti climax.
The narrator was excellent.
