I thoroughly enjoyed this story wrapped around historical facts. It is totally enthralling and inspiring and read with all the appropriate emotion and accent of each unique character. It would be especially transporting if one were listening by the sea with the backdrop of waves crashing and the tang of salt sea air.

Good story, reader could be better.

The story was engaging but the reader seemed to have difficulty transitioning between accents and at times added inflections verging on hysteria when the situation did not require such intensity. It was a bit of a distraction to the plot line and what was actually being said.

Dealing with the plague in 14th century Britain, the characters' experiences resonate with living and dealing with the 21st century pandemic we are in the middle of currently. Riots, rebellion, misinformation, science versus religion, apparently it has all happened before. Sadly we don't seem to learn.

The story was well written but the delivery made it difficult to warm to the characters. One sounded like she was reporting the news and another was overly breathy and seemed to forget whether she was male or female. I don't know who the third reader spoke for as I couldn't hear a difference. I would rather have read it with my own voices.

When I was acquiring these books I couldn't find which might come first so I started with "Sisters" but having just finished "Nurses" I wish I had listened to it first. They are both well researched and written stories that take you back in history and give you a sense of what wartime was really like. Nurses is WW1, Sisters is WW2 and there are connecting characters.

Wow!

Overwhelming at times. Slowed the reading to 95% to absorb every word. Incredible. Informative. Inspirational.

Action packed as usual and it helps to have the different voices/characters to listen to and keep the story straight. It got me through some grueling gardening.

After listening to Stillwater Lake and the unsatisfactory ending I went looking for a sequel and Killman Creek fulfilled the need for resolution. If you felt ripped off with the ending of book one you will want to read book two.

Sequel?

I understand the other comments now. The story was compelling but the ending wasn't very satisfying. It left me expecting another chapter or epilogue, so, the only other explanation is a sequel....?

I liked the story but found the delivery a little flat almost monotonous at times.
