This was the 1st time I have read/listened to anything by Kelley Armstrong, and I thought I would check it out… and I actually really enjoyed the story. Kelly really ties up all the loose ends and leaves all the questions answered at the end. good plot twist..it had me guessing right till the end who done it". I kept swaying from character to chatacter. In the beginning I was unsure what to think and it started to pick up more momentum and it turned out to be a really cool story. Quite believable if you have ever been up North in Yukon. The narration was good.. except her accents were off. that REALLLYY bothered me. Isabelle was from Northern alberta.. not Louisiana..so it annoyed me whenever that character was in play. I will for sure be checking out more Of Kelly Armstrong's work..its nice to add a good solid writer to the mix of options!! and Canadian too!

Over all it was very well written, but it really difficult to finish this book. its took FOREVER! It started out good but then It lost momentum for me. It is a very long-drawn-out story with no climax. The story was heavy and hard to get through. If it wasn't for the narration I would have not finished. The narration was excellent!! His transition between characters and his accents were brilliant.

I really wanted to like this story. It seemed like such a unique concept. The first half of the book I really struggled to continue on listening. it wasn't catching me. It's such a strange story revolving around smells; very different but it just wasn't there for me. Then the book started to pick up in the second half and I actually started to really like it, anticipating a good ending which unfortunately didn't happen. I found the ending was cut off. like WHAT? what kind of ending is that!! it wasnt ended at all..not a cliff hanger or anything thing..just done. so it makes the story very weak too many loose ends. It just seems liked this whole story was sort of random and pointless. The narration was good but I felt her voices made the characters seem much older than they should be and that really bothered me. Fisher shouldn't have an old grandfather voice. It was disappointing, not one ide jump to reccomend.

I loved this book! it has such an amazing story, so heartwarming and well written. definitely worth a listen. The narration was brilliant! At first I was leery when I listened to the prologue..but wow! the narrator flows so seamlessly between characters, it's a wonderfully told story.

I had High Hopes considering, the reviews were all really good for this book and I'm usually a big fantasy genre buff. This book was just not for me. I felt it was a Elementary and the narration was extremely annoying! Bordering on super corny.
