A morbid curiosity and fascination with Middle age history drew me to these lectures. I was not disappointed. From start to finish, it was ride that I will likely take again. I never re-read (or listen to) books, the only exception being Sapiens and Homo Deus, and now The Black Death: The World's Most Devastating Plague. Well done Dorsey.

What an amazing ride!

I can listen to Yuvals' articulate and gripping account of humanity multiple times. I've already listened to this selection twice and the second time was as good, if not better, than the first. Dereks' tone and accent make for an impressive ride.

Yuval does it again!

A great glimpse of humanity and how we may evolve given where we came from. Human nature is scary. the Dereks' narrative is, once again, top notch.

Deeply disturbing. A must read for humanity.

Neil's narration was gripping. I watched a program on Netflix ( Einsatzgruppen: The Nazi Death Squads ) which I now know is an informative summary of the history of the death squads in eastern Europe during the early 1940s and would recommend people watch this prior to listening to this book. It puts a human face on the those murdered, and those few who survived the Nazi led Holocaust. Those faces and images will be with you the whole time you listen to this book.
