Finding LitRPG with a good story, excellent character development and depth with a female lead isn’t easy. This story is definitely worth the credit.

The story switches between the light and dark, explores powerful themes and all in a believable RPG digiverse. The villain does steal the show and some may be uncomfortable with getting such close look at how easy it is to fall into misusing power.

However, it was such a relief for me to listen to an RPG story with more depth to it than simply getting strong, fighting battles, and defeating the big boss at the end. I can’t wait for the next one.

This was fun. The RPG screens were a little disruptive to the story, but I enjoyed listening to character sheets being referenced like they were just another part of life. The earth, gravity, people relating, magic, skill trees and experience points.

I can’t wait for book 2 to come out!

I absolutely loved hearing the booked performed by Tatiana!

I hope they do more 1st person books with the main actor/actress. It was like reliving the movie, but with all my favourite parts of the book that didn’t make it into the film. Loved it!

She was even able to echo her co-stars speaking patterns. Sometimes I just got lost in it and it felt like I was listening to the full cast from the movie.

Wish we had more of his stuff! Kinda silly, with epic overtones. The mix of magic and science in this series always intrigued me.

Classic tropes balanced by my favorite kind of humour. I couldn’t stop smiling as I listened.

It was a fun read/listen, best in the series. I’ve been curious about how Aveoth’s story was going to develop and I wasn’t disappointed. #Audible1

I loved the interaction between Hugh and Elara, so full of fire and conflict. I never understood before how fighting could build excitement and anticipation, but now I REALLY do ;) the relationship between them was brilliantly developed.

The narrator performs the story well. The reason I gave it a three is because the pronounciation of key words was totally different from the Kate Daniels novels, and every time he said those words, the illusion of the story world was broken for me.

Despite that, the story was able to carry me through those moments, and overlooking them was well rewarded by my delight in the story.

An excellent end to a wonderful series. A story of so many kinds of loves and violence and the questions of ethics and pain that result from the courage to accept change. Thank you Tanya!
