I actually really liked the documentary style of this book. This could be due largely to the absolute stunning narration of the numerous actors bringing the characters to life, of course. But loved it I did.

Ok, so I'm conflicted because on one hand, I couldn't stop listening. Throughout the whole book I was making internal predictions and then second guessing myself. I won't spoil anything but I will say my very first assumption that I repeatedly told myself could be the case because it was just too obvious, ended up, yes, being that obvious. However, maybe that was the point?! Because I still enjoyed the book. Lol.

Can't wait for the movie! I wonder who will play these brilliant characters. Press "purchase".

The narrator is perfection!

I listened to this book in 2 days. I was bummed when it was done. The narrator is amazing.

I'm conflicted.

I mean, after listening to this book, how can one say they "loved" or even "liked" this story. I mean...yeah, you get it. So this review isn't a review of the individual experiences recounted, but of how they were presented in this book. At least, for me, the large portion of the book was a description of the towers' engineering and its role in the resulting death count. Which, hey, maybe that is fascinating for some. Sure, it's interesting and needed to be part of the book, but it was a LOT of it. Then, the tales themselves ... I wish they were told from the survivor's perspective in first person. Describing what the saw and felt as if recalling it by hypnosis and with more detail (which, if pages and pages if technical engineering and stats weren't repeated numerous times throughout the book, would have been easy.).

The narrator was great. Thanks to all those brave survivors and emergency personnel who chose to tell their stories. That must have been very difficult.

The narrator is excellent. The story is thought provoking and a deep reminder of the capacity of evil mankind is capable of.

I like Sophie Kinsella novels and have read most of them. Her novels are known for having characters that make you slap your forehead and usually that's part of the charm. Unfortunately, in this novel, she took the annoying character traits to the extreme with all but one character (Seb). Nicole, Jack, Ryan , the uncle...all of it. The extreme obnoxiousness was too much. I almost quit a number of times. My least favorite of all of her books I'm afraid.

nothing can ruin a good book than one read by a terrible actor. And in turn, a good actor can make the book. The latter is the case here. I enjoyed the series very much!
