I put this audio book down too many times to count because I was so frustrated with the blinding stupidity of the protagonist... it was cringeworthy. I only finished the book out of sheer persistence. Not recommended unless you want to be frustrated.

The remnants of the Expeditionary Force stranded on the alien-controlled planet "Paradise" get a chance to prove themselves, in a simple off-world training mission with a ship full of teenage alien cadets. When the mission goes horribly wrong and the survival of everyone on Paradise is at risk, the Merry Band of Pirates may have to come to the rescue. Unless they get killed first....

Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

The story, of course, is great. The narrator, however, was absolutely hopeless when he attempted the voices of any of the female characters... dreadful! He was great with male voices, but there neetd to be a female narrator as well.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Rosario Dawson absolutely rocked this narration. if she isn't chosen as Jaz for the inevitable blockbuster movie, I'll be pissed!

Narration aside, this book was thoroughly enjoyable. I will be recommending it to everyone.

We're here, then we're gone, and that was true before they came. That's always been true. The Others didn't invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won't end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning: on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Ten years from today, the center of our digital lives will no longer be the smart phone, but device that looks like ordinary eyeglasses: except those glasses will have settings for virtual and augmented reality. What you really see and what is computer generated will be mixed so tightly together, that we won't really be able to tell what is real and what is illusion.

One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

I can't imagine how physically reading this book could touch the experience of listening to Trevor read it aloud himself. It was as if he was pouring out his heart in a private conversation. Touching, humorous, eye opening, and far more interesting than I had ever expected his young life had been!
