Agent to the Stars was a entertaining and light book. I really enjoyed the story and Wil Wheaton's performance. This a great book to read when on vacation or travelling. No real plot twists or crazy events but still fun.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

The story begun in book 1 progresses further and we gain more knowledge of the vast world built be Sanderson. If you want end to end action this book won't be for you. You need patience and an interest in the details of this world to get through this massive effort. I loved it.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Brandon Sanderson has built another complex and thorough world for us to immerse ourselves in. It is complicated but comes together nicely. An excellent book for those of us who enjoy such things.

Guy Gavriel Kay is a terrific author who weaves tales of historical fiction mixed with fantasy. This book is one of his best. Complex, funny at times and poignant.

This is a great book about a future dystopian Earth with lots of references to 80's sci fi TV series. I'm really looking forward the the next one.
