In a flailing attempt to sound influential, this narrow scope review of Dwayne Johnson's life, just folates him gratuitously by providing a timeline of his career with limited retrospect into his actual life as opposed to just reading his Wikipedia page; to which I implore you to do and save yourself the couple dollars even if on sale.

Skip the intro, go straight to the book. Come back

The translation was done very well. Im not a huge fan of Claire Daines so narration from hey was a bit of a bitter pill, but I'm speaking personally and other people's views are likely to differ.

The 3+ hour introduction by both the narrator and then the translator, I feel would have been better suited for the end of the book as an analysis after you've already made your judgements of the poems. It was unnecessary and preemptive and should have been used as a tool at the end. Instead, it felt like it was presumptuous in the idea you had already read the poems before to provide added context, instead, it took some soul from whatever your first impressions may have been as a first time reader, providing spoilers and details otherwise best experienced during the read.

All in all, it still receives a good score. I do implore any future readers to skip the introduction at the beginning and come back to it after I'd you are so inclined.

HORRIBLE story, good imagery

The most metiocre story with fumbling attempts at character development. Provide zero context to all the main categories: Who? What? Where? Why?!? All of which makes no sense, not even culminating into any semblance of logic at the end. Every character has the most tenuous connection to the next with an inconceivable attachment to eachother. Random and incoherent. A "love-story" with zero chemistry or rooting of reason.

Negativity aside, the scenic imagery in conveying the environments of the Night Circus are awe inspiring; if only that was enough to bind this contrived piece of Y.A filth... A 13 hour waste that would have been best served as a short story focusing solely on the imagery of this Night Circus. Would have scored a "1" overall if the author (more likely the talented voice acting of Jim Dale's interpretation of the text) that I gave it a "2".

Amazing Book, bad dictation. STILL WORTH IT!!

The story is timeless despite its age and is worth reading. The audio is poorly timed, and awkwardly narrated. He reads slow and takes long unnecessary breaks between statements. I played with it, and if you increase the reading speed to 1.25 it reads well, and at a normal pace without reducing quality. Side benefit, you get through the book 25% faster. Very worth it!

For once... Movie was better

Entertaining while also contrived. It explains itself quite clearly if you're even moderately paying attention to the nuances of the story. Where the theatrical version utilizes purposeful narrative to divert attention from the seemingly obvious twist once it becomes available, where the book fails to meet that same level of excellence in its delivery.
